Looks like Prajnesh has given a walkover to Tung-Lin Wu in the R3 at the Liuzhou challenger. No reason is shown at the ATP site yet. The match was supposed to start a few minutes ago and wasn't started. Yikes. Nothing going right, and everybody is injured or something. Damn!

Terrible, indeed, especially after the easy win in R2.

The official reason for the walkover mentioned on the draw sheet is "left wrist"

Hopefully, this is a precautionary withdrawal. Don't believe this is related to his recent injuries, so hopefully he'll be fit to play soon...

Yeah, hopefully precautionary. He must have felt some wrist issues in the recent matches, which might explain the lack of sharpness in some losses. I had mentioned that the forehand never worked in the loss last week, so a left wrist issue makes perfect sense. As he played fine in the last match, it can't be a terrible injury issue though. Maybe he felt that the wrist problem wasn't going away, after he played the R2 this week. It is always better to see the player withdrawing BEFORE the match rather than during the match, when it is clear that the match made an issue worse.

Prajnesh has not withdrawn from next week's Shenzhen Challenger. So, hopefully it not serious. 2 more tournaments to play for Praj this year- Shenzhen and Pune. Hope he can earn as many points as possible in those 2 although ending in top 100 now looks difficult.

Shenzen Draw

Prajnesh is not in the draw for Shenzen open. The injury clearly serious enough to mandate such a decision. RamK is the 10th seed and Sidharth plays Sultanov of Uzb in R64.

If he isn't playing this week, then the wrist issue is serious enough. Things like wrist tendinitis can sometimes take a very long time to go away, and need surgery etc. Del Potro had one of the worst cases of it, where he was even asked to drop his two-handed backhand shot altogether. Hopefully not anything that serious for Prajnesh. But unfortunate timing for this.

RamK still able to hang in there as a seeded player, with his ranking that too in a 125 challenger. Wonder if change in continent can change the course for him

True, now winning Pune Challenger too will not be enough to get him to stay in top 100 or even inside 105 to make AO main draw. So, most likely he will skip it too and try to fully recover from his injury by end of the year.
