Very nice win for Ramkumar! For the match as a whole, RamK had a first serve percentage of 61% -- better than Kamke's 52%. That is the kind of stat RamK always needs, given that the serve is one of his key weapons. Clearly he sharply improved his serving after the first set, and that made all the difference.
Ramkumar lost the first two matches he played against Kamke, but has now won 3 in a row against him -- all on fast surfaces (the previous two on grass, this on an indoor hard court).

Yes, a really good start for Ram against his experienced German opponent, Tobias Kamke.

Any win for Ram K is something positive to take out of a very disappointing year. He now faces a player ranked higher than him. As I said a number of months back and is still the case, Ram K. has yet to defeat a player with a higher ranking than him since he defeated Granollers back in January when they met in Chennai. If you are counting, that's 12 straight losses to players ranked higher than him. That's not including the 18 losses to players ranked below him. All 25 wins this year after defeating Granollers have come against players ranked lower than him. Hope he brings this streak to an end when he plays Denis Novak.

At the €69K+H Ismaning Challenger 2019, Germany

[R2] (6) Ramkumar Ramanathan (IND,189) l. Teymuraz Gabashvili (RUS,305), 36 67(3)
[R1] (3) Rameez Junaid (AUS)/ Purav Raja (IND) l. Scott Clayton (GBR)/ Evan Hoyt (GBR), 46 67(4) [5-10]

RamK needs to do something about how his game has regressed. He is just not accurate in his tennis at all. He was never super-accurate or anything, but now he is just so frustratingly mistake-prone. That is what I saw in the few minutes of this match that I watched.
