Great win by RamK. I was beginning to worry about his confidence but this should get him back on a positive streak!

A big day for us at Roehampton. Ramkumar's match begins in less than 4 hours from now...

RamK loses the first set 67(5). Just 1 mini break in the tie break did it for Kamil. Otherwise, it was a very close set with 39 points each for both players.

RamK needs a big comeback from here.

Sadly, Ramkumar lost 67(5) 36.

The early break in the second set proved decisive.

As per stats someone posted on twitter, RamK has now played 15 grand slam qualifying tournaments and has not qualified even once ( reached final qualifying round only once in Australian open 2018).

That is poor conversion. He has not won a challenger title so far either.

So, his performance in crunch matches has not been good.

Very disappointing grass season from RamK. Was hoping he could springboard his finals appearance in Newport into a solid 2018-2019 season. Unfortunately he's going to find himself outside the top 200 in a few weeks time unless he shocks us all and does well in Newport, assuming he even makes it into the main draw.

Ankita lost the first set 1-6 to the 2011 Wimbledon singles runner-up Sabine Lasicki. But as is her wont, Ankita is fighting hard in the second set. It is 3-3 now, and hopefully she is going to keep fighting and turn this around!

And the amazing fighter that she is, Ankita Raina has taken a 5-3 lead in the second set, and is now serving for the set against Sabine Lisicki.

Ankita is sadly broken at 30 in the 9th game, and Lisicki will serve to even it up. Ankita still up 5-4, but receiving now.

For whatever reason, RamK prioritizes quantity over quality. He plays a large number of tournaments and fires on a few. Therefore, his ranking will generally reflect if that occurs (i.e., he has a deep run every now and then). In the meanwhile, you do see the stats where he hasn't yet won a challenger but has impressively made the finals of an ATP tour level event. This isn't the strategy most players follow so RamK's career trajectory is hard to predict.

Probably the most impressive part of his career has been his ability to play and show up at so many events without getting injured.
