James Ward beat Ivo Karlovic, one of the best grasscourt players in the world over the past 2 decades, in Q2 at Queen’s. So Prajnesh shouldn’t be disheartened by his Q1 loss. At least he seems to be regaining fitness.

Neither Ramkumar nor Saketh is in the Ilkley Challenger draw, and nor did they play the two ATP qualifiers. I hope there’s no injury.

The cut off for this week's Ilkley Challenger is very high at 191 . Also qualifying draw cuts at Halle and Queens was 111 and 169 respectively. So, Saketh missed the cut for those. With so many players in UK for grass season they should add one more challenger in this week before Wimbledon qualies. Otherwise those ranked in 200's are forced to skip this week and cool their heels.

RamK was in the initial entry list at Ilkley Challenger but withdrew. It does look like some injury going by his tame loss last week too. I hope nothing serious as he is the only Indian player who has been consistently fit.

Hopefully he is merely preserving himself for the real deal -- the Wimbledon qualifiers next week. Ramkumar has rarely been injured, so it would be very sad if he joined the Indian roster of the injured. A real pity that he hasn't been able to capitalize on his points from Newport last year: this grass season should have seen him peak, instead he has fizzled so far. Let us pray that he finds his best form at Roehampton next week.

Leander at 74 in the live doubles ranking now, just ahead of Jeevan (76) and Purav (82).
Since Marcus is 53, he and Leander should get into the Wimbledon main draw, but Jeevan/Purav are on the edge, and may still have to play the qualifiers.

Despite making the Stuttgart final, Rohan Bopanna has slipped to 50 in the live rankings, well behind the India #1 in doubles, Divij Sharan (43).
