Site outage for couple of days!

Post by kujo »

Did the sports-india.com experience an outage for the past couple of days? I was not able to visit the board and I don't see any recent posts from the members either....

Looks like it is back to normal now. Thanks Dhruv!!

Yes, it was down. Dhruv was really busy at work and didn't notice it. I had sent an email yesterday but sent another today to his work address. It took him no time to fix it. I should keep his phone number handy .. I was busy and couldn't find it yesterday.. Yikes.

Anyway, we are back... Thanks Dhruv!

Yeah. Sorry about that folks. Usually check in over weekends these days to make sure all is well. Life is busy in the restructuring business these days....

I'll (try to) make a few updates over this weekend and hopefully that will improve things a bit as well....

I had withdrawal symptoms and had to visit my doctor. He prescribed some medicine that seemed to help. Now I am debating whether I should get re-addicted or join some forumics anonymous group given the good start in the last couple of days.

Dhruv, Thanks for all the work you do. We would not be here without you.

Is there a way you can setup a notification if there is a site outage? Don't have any experience with this, but i'd imagine this might be the lifeline for most businesses these days. Many of us keep coming back here for the camaraderie and the community. And that (as the old Mastercard ad used to say) is priceless!

Email or phone. Automatic notifications cannot possibly cover all cases. For example, if his machine dies (power yanked) or the machine room has an abrupt power-cut or an earthquake, etc., the notifications cannot happen.

Prasen, You think like an academic. When are you coming out into the real world? :)

Ok so some updates to the site... Should be all behind the scene changes so nothing should be wrong (theoretically). Yes the portal menu now lacks the chat, wiki, photogallery etc but I can put that back later this weekend.
