They do factor and give more weight to grand slams, then tour finals, then one more level and then rest. They also factor in more points for finals than for semis, etc. I think they factor in the surface by giving about 50% more points for grass and indoor carpet!

However, these ratings do provide interesting data. The Indian top 13 for Peak ELO is
1. Vijay Amritraj (2077)
2. Ramesh Krishnan (1987)
3. Leander Paes (1885)
4. Somdev Devvarman (1841)

Meets my gut instinct test with the exception of the pre-Open era stalwarts such as Ramanathan Krishnan who should be much higher (perhaps at the top).
This pretty much corresponds with the career high ranking of these players. A few exceptions that Zeezhan Ali with a career high ranking 126 and Saketh with a career high ranking of 138 are not there. I wonder how Prakash Amritraj and Rohan Bopanna are rated higher than them.

Did Prakash and Rohan have big name wins in singles perhaps in slams that Zeeshan and Saketh have not had?

As I said earlier, Saketh is not even in the rankings. He has not played enough qualifying games.

Sorry, I thought maybe because we are part of rest-of-the-world, we have a home team participating and home players playing, and it is fine. I guess the semantics is if Indian players are playing. So, the mods can move it, please.

Federer did have a time when he was king and there was not much opposition. So, that may have affected the numbers. Or maybe because his wins are at Wimbledon where I think ranked players are more likely to fall earlier in the tournament because the ranking is not an accurate predictor for skill needed to win at Wimbledon. It would be interesting to see this adjusted number on clay and non-clay tournaments. If the "increase" is due to Nadal facing stiff opposition at the French, then that does nothing to address Nadal's weak point, namely, his not winning as many beyond the French.

Another early loss for Thiem. Looks like he has issues getting himself going outside of the slams.

Federer has now won 5 straight against Nadal. He is 11-9 now against Nadal on hard courts, which is perhaps the best indicator ignoring their favorite surfaces clay or grass on which each of them are distinctly better.
