I think the big server Anderson will finally win one. It is not easy to defeat Federer on grass!

A bit old now. I doubt he will last so long.

I think Isner will beat Anderson. Can Djokovic stop unstoppable Rafa? It's the most vital match.

Isner vs Anderson will probably be determined by tiebreakers. Anderson's first serve percentage was spectacularly high yesterday against Federer: he played a sublime match, which I doubt he can repeat against others (Isner, and then Djokovic/Nadal). Let us see.

Isner is the oldest man still in the draw, and Anderson is the next oldest (a month older than Nadal). All more than 31 years old -- the age that most players used to retire by. This is a remarkable transformation in the game.

Of course Anderson and Isner are also the guys that Somdev beat in the SF and final of the NCAA singles championship in 2007

Welcome back Djokovic! I missed watching him. Top class tennis vs Nadal.

I am not a big fan. But I do not like monopolies. So, I like Djoker winning despite being a mild Nadal fan. Or maybe since I am happy, I should not call myself a Nadal "fan". Now, I hope Murray comes back too. But that seems a long shot!

I am a fan of the "wow" factor in tennis. I want to see brilliant shot-making and crazy retrievals & unbelievable drop shots & all of the other "how could he possibly do that" items. Djokovic gave us a LOT of those. So, even though I will remain first & foremost a Federer fan, I am glad to see him back.

I agree with you that having Murray back would be good.

I think Anderson should start as a slight favorite in the final since he is better rested. He is more than just a huge serve, he has a reasonable all around game as well, and apparently huge mental strength.

Sad to see return of 2011-12 Nadal against Djokovic

Based on his experience after the Mahut match, Isner thinks Anderson will be winded. But of course, Kevin has had a full extra day to rest and recuperate, hopefully get a rubdown or two and get his body back in competitive shape. The final set was quite long for Djokovic too, but I think he and Nadal were lucky that they were able to interrupt the match after 3 sets, so they didn't have a single truly exhausting match but almost the equivalent of two separate matches.
Isner was able to serve zero aces in the match after Mahut. So one thing to look out for early in the final today is how many aces Anderson is able to send down in the first set.

:Offtopic: American Ulises blanch ranked outside 500 ,hardly had any good wins this years even at the futures level, won the perugia challenger as a lucky loser.

Strange was the fact that he retired in the final qualifying match and was later on handed the lucky loser slot and then went on to win the tournament without dropping a set defeating good clay courters like Almagro, Taberner ,Balazs on the way. That was something interesting i saw and felt like sharing.

Nadal's decline in 5-setters is quite intriguing especially him "choking" away BPs in the 5th set

Before 2015 USO: 17-5 (77%)
Since 2015 USO: 3-7 (30%)

This has cost him 2 GS now and almost certainly any hopes of surpassing Federer in GS count.

Depends on whether you think Federer is winning more GS or not. Nadal should still be the overwhelming favorite for the FO for the next 3-4 years, which alone should get him to 20...

With threesome back, the US Open this year should be fascinating -- especially because Djokovic will not be seeded in the top 3 unless the USO management decides to do something radical.
