RamK is now back as India #1 just ahead of Yuki. These are this week's rankings-

221 Ramkumar Ramanathan
226 Bhambri, Yuki
268 Gunneswaran, Prajnesh
287 N. Sriram Balaji (CH)
369 Sumit Nagal
415 Sasi Kumar Mukund
423 Myneni, Saketh
447 Vardhan, Vishnu
513 Prashanth, N Vijay Sundar
605 Sanam Singh

Good healthy competition for the #1 spot. RamK has lot of points to defend in July while Yuki has almost nothing till end of the year. So, Yuki is at an advantage there.

For a change updating our WTA top 10 rankings-

256 Ankita Raina
324 Karman Thandi (CH)
510 Riya Bhatia (CH)
603 Dhruti Venugopal
618 Pranjala Yadlapalli (CH)
699 Zeel Desai
743 Rutuja Bhosale
757 Natahsa Palha
790 Sowjanya Bavisetti
800 Prarthana Thombre

Ankita has been our # 1 for about 4 years now which is admirable but she has been stuck at this 250-300 level most of the time. Hope with some big tournaments in India late this year, she is able to make a move up the rankings. Karman is making a move up and should challenge Ankita for #1 soon.

Good that 5 players below Ankita are all in 18-20 age group. So, hopefully all of these move up faster ahead.

In doubles, Prarthana is now ranked 129 and Ankita 159.

We have not updated our current top 10 for a while. So, here is it as of today-

149 Ramkumar Ramanathan (CH)
154 Bhambri, Yuki
222 Gunneswaran, Prajnesh
270 Sumit Nagal
358 N. Sriram Balaji
405 Sasi Kumar Mukund (CH)
488 Vardhan, Vishnu
527 Siddharth Rawat
531 Prashanth, N Vijay Sundar
645 Karunuday Singh

RamK keeps moving up in the ranking but he must start winning matches again. Sasi moves close to top 400. Another notable addition in the rankings list is Arjun Kadhe who is now ranked at 799 after just 3 tournaments. He should be comfortably in top 10 after playing a few more weeks.

Top 100? Currently, Arjun's game looks around the top-500 level.

My mistake. I wanted to say among top 10 Indians. :D Changed the above post.

As of now, I am not expecting anything more than top 300-400 at best from Arjun.

Sanam, Jeevan and Sumit had fabulous starts in Indian futures. Cracking top 10 in India is easy. Very few migrate to top 300 that easily

This week Yuki is back to being India #1 ahead of RamK.

These are our top 10-

146 Bhambri, Yuki
149 Ramkumar Ramanathan
227 Gunneswaran, Prajnesh
314 Sumit Nagal
356 N. Sriram Balaji
396 Sasi Kumar Mukund (CH)
494 Vardhan, Vishnu
527 Siddharth Rawat
548 Prashanth, N Vijay Sundar
647 Karunuday Singh

For the first time since August 2015, we have 2 players in top 150. In August 2015, Somdev and Yuki were in top 150 only for a short while. Hopefully, it will be longer this time. But, for that RamK needs to start picking up wins soon.

These are our WTA top 10 rankings as of today-

281 Ankita Raina
307 Karman Thandi (CH)
483 Pranjala Yadlapalli (CH)
534 Riya Bhatia
596 Rutuja Bhosale
733 Dhruti Venugopal
743 Natahsa Palha
772 Kanika Vaidya (CH)
778 Zeel Desai
799 Sowjanya Bavisetti

Both Karman and Pranjala at their career highs this week with Pranjala breaking into top 500 for the first time. With lots of high level tournaments in India slated from next week till end of the year, I hope they make a late surge and Karman challenges Ankita for India # 1 and Pranjla tries to go to top 400 level by end of the year.

Sameer - I did an interview with Pranjala for Indian Tennis Daily(The page that me, Vishnu and Jaydeep run on FB). She mentioned that she aims to break into Top 300 by the end of the year! :D

Will share entire interview once published!

Yes, Vatsal. I do follow your FB page regularly. Get a lot of new updates from there. :D

I think top 300 is too ambitious a target for Pranjala by this year end. It will need around 160 points. Currently, she has 65 points and has 4 points falling off next week. So, will need to earn around 100 points in about 6 tournaments which are there in India from next week till year end. Will need at least 1 25K title from the 3 such tournaments to be held or a couple of round wins at WTA Mumbai. Kudos to her if she can achieve that target.

Yuki at 116 and Ram at a career high of 137
For both of them the season has ended ,and Yuki will end the year at 116 but Ram will fall to 150 in couple of weeks after his Doha points drop off, but still have the gratification of reaching the figure of 137 for few days.

New kid on the block Sumit at 225 and surely will crack top 200 by the year end as he is playing futures in the coming weeks

I think Sumit should now pull out of those Qatar futures in the first 2 weeks of December. He has already made sure of making it in for AO qualies. No need to waste a couple of weeks just in the quest of making it to top 200. He can always do that early next year with some points in challengers or AO qualies or Pune ATP.

Play AO wild card play off this week and then take 4 weeks off to prepare for next season.

Yeah I asked him that question. He said he won't play those Futures
