Indian tennis player rankings
The old thread for this has a notice saying "Moved to tennis.sports-india.com". How does one go there??
Until I figure that out, I'm pointing to this listing of India's top 100 singles players from AITA:
http://www.aitatennis.com/New%20Aita/MS.htm
LP is 27th! But presumably that will change after the Chennai Open points go in...

PKB,
If you go to the home page of Sports-India (portal.php) then you will see "Sports India Navigation" in the left upper corner. Click on tennis to access information about tennis in this web site. News about other sports are in the golf, football, squash, etc sections.

or just type http://tennis.sports-india.com . Ofcourse I haven't updated it in a while because of work/school/job search but I think I will eventually get it straight from the ATP/WTA site.BSharma wrote:PKB,

Jay (and Neil/Dhruv),
i was wondering if we could also track performance against top 300,200,100 in this thread.... (quite like what Jay did for Harsh and Prakash before the Davis Cup...)
given Prakash's recent form after the Davis Cup, and Harsh's before that, it would be nice to track this stat regularly, and not just when we have a controversy prior to Davis Cup.
just my 2 cents...

And here are the doubles rankings:
http://www.atptennis.com/en/players/ent ... mage1.y=10
I must say I am bemused to find that Vinod Sridhar's ranking has declined sharply rather than rising after his great win in Calcutta. God forbid, has the ATP made a mistake?? (Actually, the explanation probably is that they still take more than a week to enter the results of a Futures into the computer!!).

Obviously, the futures points have not been added. He will jump in rankings next week. Vinod, Vishal and Vijay have lost some points from last year.

The kid to watch out for is Karan Rastogi over the next few months.
We also have Somdev Dev Varman, who is very talented but is currently in college in the US and so absent from the pro tour. He won a Futures on clay (a surface Indians usually loathe) at age 18 last year, just before going off to college in the US.
