That is a wise thing. I hope he works on his serve in the off season although it may be a short time to do much on it in 3-4 weeks.

2017 year end ATP singles rankings - mens singles - (with last 2 year's ranking in brackets)

116 Bhambri, Yuki (532) (93)
148 Ramkumar Ramanathan (227) (248)
223 Sumit Nagal (356) (416)
243 Gunneswaran, Prajnesh (320) (483)
374 N. Sriram Balaji (417) (538)
426 Sasi Kumar Mukund (513) (552)
511 Vardhan, Vishnu ( 434 ) (485)
526 Prashanth, N Vijay Sundar (564) (379)
542 Siddharth Rawat (617) (629)
597 Karunuday Singh (1438) (524)

I have put last 2 years's year end rankings which will indicate improvements ( or decline) over the 2 years.

Yuki's last year's low ranking was due to injury. So, he is slightly lower than he was at the end of 2015. The next 3, RamK, Sumit and Prajnesh have shown real improvement over the 2 years and the improvement this year has been more marked. These 3 along with Yuki would be the ones looking for bigger steps in 2018.
For those below the top 4, there has been improvement from Balaji, Sasi and Sid Rawat but at a much slower pace. Sasi and Sid are still young and would be looking to further improve this year. But, Balaji, Vishnu and VSP, perhaps KU Singh too are likely to move mainly to doubles this year.
Saketh if he is fuly fit can easily come back into top 200 and Arjun Kadhe is making rapid moves and is just outside top 10.

These are our top 10 doubles rankings this week-

20 Rohan Bopanna
45 Divij Sharan (CH)
47 Leander Paes

109 Vishnu Vardhan (CH)
120 Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan
128 N. Sriram Balaji
237 N. Vijay Sunder Prashanth

Updating the top 10 ATP singles rankings for our players after the first quarter of the year putting their year end ranking in the bracket.

105 Bhambri, Yuki (116)
132 Ramkumar Ramanathan (148)
213 Sumit Nagal (223)
263 Gunneswaran, Prajnesh (243)
394 Arjun Kadhe (610)
463 Prashanth, N Vijay Sundar (526)
510 Siddharth Rawat (542)
520 Sasi Kumar Mukund (426)
588 Saketh Myneni (620)
631 N. Sriram Balaji (374)

So, almost everyone has made good progress except Sasi who has gone down and Prajnesh marginally. Balaji and Vishnu have gone down too from the year end rankings but that was expected as they are now focusing on doubles.

RamK, Sumit and Arjun are all at their career high ranking.

Yes, good improvement is most of our top-10 especially keeping in mind Balaji's focus on doubles (and Saketh's slow improvement likely due to lingering effects of his injury). Dramatic rise by Arjun Kadhe.

The most significant reversal is probably Sasi Mukund who seems to have good streaks but then seemingly slips back.

Ankita is at 192 in the live singles rankings (reflecting the fact that her QF run last week will only enter the computer next week).

As we approach the end of the 4th month of 2018, this is turning into a banner year for Indian tennis!

In the Race rankings, Yuki is still at a rather lofty 35, Ramkumar is 100, Sumit is 156, Prajnesh is 191, Arjun is 246, VSP is 323, Mukund is 325 and Saketh is 334 (but will move up a week later when his SF+ points from this week kick in).

FOUR Indians in the top-200 of the ATP Race rankings (including two still in the top-100), and SEVEN Indians in the top-325. Surely the most fertile period for Indian tennis since the heyday of the 1980s.

PKB: I share some of your optimism. But it is early to read too much into the ATP Race rankings. The Grand Slams provide a ton of points and lots of people will pass our guys post Wimbledon.

Suresh beat me to it & I agree completely. The rankings race will change significantly after FO & Wimbledon. Of course, it is possible that Yuki & RamK will capitalize & do even better, but the other guys might slip further back.

While I agree to both of you on this being too early, if we look at the race rankings as of the same time last year i.e 24.4.2017 our guys were significantly lower - Yuki at 120, surprisingly Balaji at 193, Prajnesh at 222,RamK at 222,Mukund at 347 , Sumit at 628, Arjun- not ranked. So, it is quite evident that there is vast improvement in performance in first 4 months this year compared to same time last year.

Except for Balaji ( who concentrated on doubles after a while), Mukund and Prajnesh ( who was only slightly lower) everyone else had a better year end rankings than their race rankings as on 24th April.

So, it is quite probable that they can do the same this year too if they continue the progress.

The Race ranking is simply a reflection of what you have achieved so far this year. That Yuki has come through qualifiers to make the AO, Indian Wells and Miami Masters draws helps him gain additional points; but that truly reflects how well he has done so far in 2018. Similarly, Ramkumar has consolidated his solid play from last year. Chances are that he will qualify into the FO and/or Wimbledon, and it will be up and up from there!

The depth and breadth in Indian men's tennis is what is awe-inspiring. Our #8 goes to China and thrashes their #1 Davis Cup player. And the renaissance of Indian tennis occurs in April 2018 on the soil of China, starting with the cold of Nanjing, then Nanchang and Anning. Who would've thunk?!
