2012 Formula 1 season

Post by Sandeep »

On the expected lines Adrina Sutil is out of the Force India F1 team. His contract ended and after a wonderful 2011 he was expected to find a bigger team. Force India will have Paul Di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg as their drivers for the next season. Adrina Sutil is expected to go to Willaims.

HRT have confirmed that Narain Karthikeyan will drive for the team this season - so there will be an Indian driver in 2012!!! .
Karthikeyan will partner Pedro de la Rosa at HRT.
The favourites to get the seat were Tonio Liuzzi and Vitaly Petrov.
With Pedro aged 40 and Narain turned 35, HRT will start the season with the oldest driver pairing on the grid.

With second Grand Prix of India coming up up, I guess this thread should become little more active. Although Karthikeyan has been a regular driver, there is nothing much to right about him.

However, Sahara Force India is doing good as it has established itself as a strong middle tier team. Both Paul Di Resta and Nico Hulkenberg have been finishing in points. Force India has scored points in 12 of the 16 races so far. They are currently placed 7th with 89 points, 27 points behind Sauber.

Both Paul Di Resta(44 pts.) and Nico Hulkenberg(45) are neck to neck in points Initially, Paul Di Resta was performing better but I guess Nico Hulkenberg is having an edge now. They are placed 12th and 13th, (just above the great Michael Schumacher (43) ). Nico Hulkenberg had a great race in Korea in the last GP as he finished 6th. There are rumors that Nico Hulkenberg may move to Sauber team next year.

Last year in Delhi, Sutil finished in points as he finished 8th, while Paul Di Resta only finished 13th. Can Sahara Force India do better this year? Goodluck to both of them.

Sebastian Vettel for Red Bull was the winner in Delhi, ahead of 2nd placed Jenson Button and 3rd placed Fernando Alonso. This year too Vettel is looking very good as he is coming here on the back of some great results in recent races. He has won the last three races and the last victory took him to the top spot in the championship standing pipping out the Ferrari driver Alonso. Vettel has 4 wins this year to 3 wins by Alonso and its a close race between them for this year championship. With only 5 points separating them, they will be fighting tooth and nail for the lead in the championship.
