Formula1 Season 2007

Post by jaydeep »

A 21 yrs old British Lewis Hamilton is set to become Formula One’s first black driver when he joins world champion Fernando Alonso at McLaren next season ... He won this year's (2006) GP2 series ... Hamilton was inducted into the McLaren and Mercedes-Benz Young Driver Support Programme from its inception in 1998 ... Hamilton showed his promise by winning the McLaren Mercedes Champions of the Future karting series in 1998 ... Then Hamilton went on to dominate the 2003 British Formula Renault Championship, winning 10 of 15 races ... He also won the Formula 3 Euro series in 2005.

Other hand Pedro de la Rosa will return to testing duties for the 2007 season.

I think this is a gamble from Ron Dennis that might just pay off....Pairing him with Alonso should be good as he will push himself to keep getting quicker....Another person to definitely watch for is Heiki Kovaleinen who is a quick driver and should be good to watch behind the wheel of the reliable Renault. I think that it will be even stevens b/w him and Fisico....should be a good year ahead....can't wait to see Alonso in Mclaren clothing and likewise with Kimi and the red outfit.....

i have a feeling Kovaleinen will beat Fisi regularly after the first few rounds. And Lewis, we will see how he will do against Alonso. He was awesome in GP2, so was rosberg last year. But rosbergs performance this year was below average !.

Hamilton seemed to bevery qucik at Jerez on thursday, over a second faster than the rest and 1.5s faster than DLR. This could be beacue everone else was testing new thing for the 07 season while Hamilton was not testing anything but getting used to the car. Either way, hes getting to grips withthe F1 car quite fast which is why i think Ron Dennis has made the right choice in getting Hamilton

Both Hondas are blistering quick in testing at Jerez. It reminds me of their similar form in pre-season testing 2004. Even their second team Super Aguri is quick, with Ant Davidson clocking decent lap times.

Tyota has just launched their NEW car.
Looks like KINGFISHER AIRLINES is one of the main sponsors, their logo seems to be all over the car.

Vijay mallaya was at the launch, Quite a few images on www.suttonimages.com where he was seen talking to ralf !

Formula1 Live TV timing in India

Post by Tintin »

am sorry, but I don't live in India anymore and going there only on a short visit later this month. I looked up ESPN Star websites, but I can't find any info regarding this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much Jaydeep,

I did look up earlier in the week, but I think I got confused with the way the programmes were listed. Do you know if they are showing it live or is this recorded. Thx again Tintin
