Not a 3-2-1 finish for Lewis Hamilton, but nevertheless a fantastic performance - 3-2-2 .  3rd consecutive podium finish for Hamilton as he ends up in second place behind Massa.  Last years champion, and team mate Fernando Alonso was placed 5th.

Here are the complete standings:
1  5  Felipe Massa Ferrari  57  Winner 1  10
2  2  Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes  57  +2.3 secs 2  8
3  6  Kimi Räikkönen Ferrari  57  +10.8 secs 3  6
4  9  Nick Heidfeld BMW  57  +13.8 secs 5  5
5  1  Fernando Alonso McLaren-Mercedes  57 +14.4 secs 4  4
6  10  Robert Kubica BMW  57  +45.5 secs 6  3

8  3  Giancarlo Fisichella Renault  57  +81.7 secs 7  1
9  4  Heikki Kovalainen Renault  57  +89.4 secs 12
10  16  Nico Rosberg Williams-Toyota  57  +89.9 secs 10
11  17  Alexander Wurz Williams-Toyota  56  +1 Lap 11
12  11  Ralf Schumacher Toyota  56  +1 Lap 14
13  8  Rubens Barrichello Honda  56  +1 Lap 15
14  21  Christijan Albers Spyker-Ferrari  55  +2 Laps 22
15  20  Adrian Sutil Spyker-Ferrari  53  +4 Laps 20
16  23  Anthony Davidson Super Aguri-Honda  51  Engine 13
Ret  15  Mark Webber Red Bull-Renault  41  Gearbox 8
Ret  14  David Coulthard Red Bull-Renault  36  Driveshaft 21
Ret  22  Takuma Sato Super Aguri-Honda  34  Engine 17
Ret  18  Vitantonio Liuzzi STR-Ferrari  26  Hydraulics 18
Ret  7  Jenson Button Honda  0  Accident 16
Ret  19  Scott Speed STR-Ferrari  0  Accident 19

From F1 pages:
The result puts Hamilton, Alonso and Raikkonen in the joint lead of the drivers’ world championship, with 22 points apiece. Three races in, and the rookie not only leads the world championship (albeit jointly) but is the first man ever to finish on the podium in his first three races. :notworthy:

Massa snatchs pole from Alonso. I thought Kimi will dominate Massa, but he is definetely not intimidating him.

Massa wins again...and Lewis stands on the podium yet again. This kid is good or what !!, rookie and he is leading the championship. Its all gone wrong for Kimi, how many times have we seen kimi's Macca break down...Now its his ferrari...Is he really a car breaker !!

I still don't agree with the new points system (3-4 years old now) which rewards consistency rather race wins.  The old point system was so much better.  If there was a greater reward for winning and higher positions then people would take risks, try and overtake and make daring maneuvers.  I just don't like the idea of someone who has not won a race leading the championship series.

Yes Dhruv, totally agree with u ... With this new point system, winner doesn't get advantage like old days, but otherhand consistent driver can out-perform winners and high risk takers with their consistent performance.

I think the pressure is getting to Kimi and Massa is much a better driver than people have given him credit for.  Massa when teammates with Jacques Villeneuve was as good is not slightly better than a World Champion driver and when with Michael Schumacher was good enough to keep Schumi honest.

Currently he looks to be a better driver than Kimi and I think Kimi didn't expect that and it looks like Kimi is being unable to handle the pressure of having to fill Schumi's shoes.

Also I wonder how good/fast Alonso and Hamilton really are and how much is down to the car they are driving.  People are saying the Ferrari is faster than the Macca this year but really no-one knows and with Hamilton being black and British and all that the press will not entertain any thoughts of him being an above average driver in a great car.  They'd rather picture him as a great driver in an above average car.

Oh, what a race it was today!! You name it and it happened today in Montreal. Absolute drama from start to finish.

Alonso got too aggressive at the start and couldn't brake hard enough at the first turn after the start. He cut the corner and went flying across the path of Lewis Hamilton and joined the group in 3rd place. Nick stole the second spot with that mistake from Alonso.

The safety car came out 4 times in the race, Robert Kubica had a spectacular crash just before the hair pin bend with wheels flying across the track and no one else getting caught in the debris. Jenson Button (Honda) was pushed off the start because of engine malfunction. Massa and Fisichella were black flagged for driving out of the pitlane when the signal was red!

And to top it all off, Sato gave a fantastic display of his driving skills (may be crazy too! :) ) with the Super Aguri Honda - overtaking McLaren's Alonso during the final laps of the race!! Wow!

Alonso and Nico Rosberg had to go through a 10 second stop and go penalty as well.

Of course, the real noteworthy event today is the first formula 1 win by Lewis Hamilton starting from Pole position. One of many more to come...

I was glad to watch the action today. Montreal is pure drama. Nick during his interview says, there shouldn't be such drama. They ought to change the track and avoid all the marbles?! (according to him). May be he lost his marbles today?!  :kookoo:

And, there was this crazy sequence where Trulli and Nico did a little bit of a synchronised spin ( dance?!) in the middle of the track while their cars were not touching at alll!! :)

cheers
