There was a report that Jugraj will be released from the hospital -- of course,
he will have to undergo physiotherapy for a while. The Indian Olympic Association
is planning on sending him to the US to a (sports) doctor affiliated to the USOA
and have sent a request to USOA and are awaiting their response. The Indian
Government has also agreed in principle to cover the expenses. It is real nice to
see that talent in this case is being given the care it deserves. I look forward to
seeing Jugraj taking penalty corners for India at the Athens Olympics.

I am glad that the Indian sports authorities and the Indian government are trying to take care of their sports heroes.

Jugraj Singh was brought by a helicopter provided by Sahara Group from Ludhiana to Batra Hospital in Delhi. He will be sent to USA once the arrangement has been finalized.

Get well soon Jugraj...we need you to be fit and raring to go at Athens.
I'm glad to see the attention that is being paid to Jugraj's injuries, in distinct contrast to the inattention that ended the career of Rajiv Misra (the hero of our junior World Cup triumph a few years ago, who is now languishing as a Railway ticket collector because his severe knee injury was not properly healed).

Jugraj had surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, USA and has returned to India for extensive physiotherapy.

Get well soon, Jugraj.

Jugraj could return for Olympic qualifier

If Jugraj can play again it will be a miracle.

But that will take at least six months. Once he is on the field he will need at least another three months to get fit.

Going through the reports and talking to some close friends of his, sadly it appears that we will not be able to see the real Jugraj again...

I would love to be proved wrong, though.

I have been searching for news about Jugraj for quite some time but have not found it so far. Perhaps David can give us some information through his contacts.

Based on the nature of his injuries, I do not expect him for the Olympic qualifier. It will take him a few months to get back into shape once he is cleared to play.

Good luck, Jugraj. Get well soon.
