Re: Champions trophy Hockey 2016, London
I predicted we would get hammered by most teams. As it turned out, I completely underestimated our team and I'm really happy to be proven wrong.
We have got a medal at a major tournament. A second one within 6-7 months as well. That is just brilliant.
More importantly, we have performed very well in most matches. Even the defeat against Belgium wasn't a bad showing. Shows what a good coach and decent planning can do.
Let's hope for an improved showing against Australia tonight.

Oops, so late. I don't know why I was thinking it was somewhere around 10-10.30 pm.prashanthm wrote:Past mid-night - 12:45 AM ISTfabshab wrote:What's d schedule start of d final according to IST .......n hoping dat Indians wud play like d Q4 against Aussies for d entire match learning from their mistake of being ovrdefensive
8:15 PM London time...
3:15 PM EST...
to India...
Looks like worthy of staying up late though being our first final at this level after a long time. However, I am in two minds. Sometimes ( in fact most of the times) against Australia they quickly take us down 2-3 goals which will make it feel like a waste staying up late.

Match started and it is 0-0 after Q1. Quite even so far . They wasted 4 PC's while we wasted 2.

Still, 0-0 at half time.
In possession, we were ahead 56-44 %, circle penetrations we lead 9-7. Quite pleasing stats against Australia. Shots at goal they are ahead 11-6 and penalty corners 7-3.

Aus getting frustrated it seems. Flurry of cards given to them and now they are 1 man down for last 10 mins.

It all feels surreal. I am at work and can't watch the live streaming, but nervous as hell following live commentary updates! I hope we pull a rabbit out of the hat in the last minute!

From Live Commentary79 per cent possession for India so far in the match against Australia. That's huge.

We are down to 10 men too now.. 2 mins to go.
And it remains 0-0 at full time. Penalty shootout coming up.
