Just started watching the matches and guess what? Our ladies conced within 30 seconds of me watching their game v. Japan. We're 2-1 up, but have another 10 mins + to hold on to this lead.
Regarding the men, it's 1-1 at half time but I didn't see any of the action. From Sameer's post, we can thank Rupinder Pal for the Korean equalizer. That is no surprise to me.
Shall I go away for the next 40 mins or so?? It would be the best option.

Oh dear, I didn't go away quickly enough as it's 2-2 for our ladies. Always happens. 2 goals conceded in 3-4 mins is normal....maybe even better than usual. 8 mins left, so I fully expect Japan to win this. :damn:

Still 1-1 in the men's semi. We are getting zero outcomes from any circle penetrations because our guys are just too rash. Umpires are also giving us nothing. This could end badly as only 8 mins left. So could go to the lottery of a shoot out. Pitch conditions are bad due to heavy rain.

Oh dear, Rupinder gives away a PC needlessly. This is crucial...and sure enough it's a disaster. A PS results. That is the end of this farce. We are not going to come back from this. Rubbish performance when it matters. :damn: :damn:
2-1 down and only 6-7 mins left. Well done to Rupinder for being so rash. This guy is a liability. Idiotic play, but he has done this several times in the past. I'd drop him for a while.

Dreadful PC attempt by us. 6 mins left. But we get back level! Can we hold on? ;)

Goes to PS.

Sreejesh you absolute beast!! Well done. We are in the final.

We need to be winning against a young inexperienced Korean team more convincingly, but pleased we rescued the situation from 2-1 down with 6 mins to go. Thanks to Sardar's class we got the equalizer and then Sreejesh won us the PS.

Poor performance by Rupinder Pal. At fault for both Korean goals and no PCs conversions. I have said before that this guy can be brilliant (like HIL 2016) or awful. He just seems slow to change direction and can be too lax in trapping. Our defence is really hampered by Birendra's lack of pace/fitness, Rupinder's inconstent play and Surender Kumar's suspension.

In attack, our forwards are just maddening. So many chances to get a PC are just wasted by wild hits or lack of basic skills and composure

Just to clarify we beat Korea 5-4 when the last shot in the penalty shootout was saved by Sreejesh.

And our women started their campaign by a 2-2 draw against Japan.

1-1 in the other semi between Malaysia and Pakistan with about 12 mins left. It doesn't matter who we meet in the final because it's going to be a tough game with either of these 2 teams. Pakistan look better than Malaysia. I have to admit their players have better individual skills than our guys (Sardar excepted) but their lack of international experience and fitness may let them down.

We lead 2-1 at halftime.

PC goal by Rupinder Pal to get the lead and then superb pass by Sardara to Ramandeep who in turn had a good pass for Affan Yousef to tap in our second goal. But, Pakistan came back with a PC goal later.

We are dominating the game but are not making our circle penetrations count so far. Our players simply seem to go for most difficult option when more easier ones are available to score.

Pakistan have made us pay for not turning all that domination into goals earlier.

Sardar creates three chances at goal in quick succession, Uthappa and others mess them up.

Nikkin scores. 3-2

Sardar was key to that move too.

Yes, we finally score after Utthappa missed doing anything on 2 clear chances and Nikin missed an easy one too. Thankfully,Nikin scored of next one.

Now, need to hold on.
