Oh boy... Major controversy now. The Kochi blasters and Bengaluru FC were playing at Sree Kanteerava stadium in BLR. Goal-less till 108th minute and look what Sunil Chhetri did. Bengaluru advanced to ISL semifinal. The blasters walked out and never returned to finish the match.



Lots of people are criticizing Chhetri, but I don't know... Give it to him for awareness (and it was done perfectly when he saw an opening and made the quick decision to do it).

Anyway, Chhetri is suddenly public enemy #1 in Kerala

Perfectly legitimate. And a nice free kick from a standing position. The Kerala coach and players behaved rather badly.

Yeah, it was not an easy goal at all. Lightning quick decision to do it. Even a second slower, and the goal wouldn't work, I think. From a standing position. The goalie was actually not totally out of position and it had to have a delicate arc to go over his head and dip in, which it did, one foot below the top bar.

And ATK Mohun Bagan beat Bengaluru FC in the ISL final, 4-3 in penalty shootouts after a 2-2 draw. (Chhetri did make his penalty shot, or the Blasters fans would have said "bad karma")

Average attendance is falling. From average 27k per match to now at 12.4k per match. Even before COVID it had fallen to 15k
