I-League Football

Post by LIF2012 »

Hello Guys,

My name is Murali and I am a big Indian Football fan. I am a newbie here and this is my first post. I was a state level footballer but had to quit the game because of a career threatening injury. Now want to contribute to Indian football from outside the ground and hence maintain a blog of my own on Indian Football (www.liveindianfootball.netne.net).

While going through several threads here, I could not find anything on I-League transfers for the upcoming season. So thought why don't I start the thread and ask fellow members to contribute?

Anyone interested in I-League transfers? You may check out the following pages, which I have maintained on a monthly basis. Suggestions welcome and feel free to add new transfer rumors/updates which are not mentioned here:

May 2012 : http://ulg.linkybank.com/
April 2012 : http://ulh.linkybank.com/

Regards,
Murali

Thank you sir! I will update the Keita news on my blog.

To add to that Salgaocar have recently signed highly rated Ex-Australia U-20 team striker Sean Rooney. Costa Rica World-cupper Carlos Hernandez to Prayag United is another move which will help in spreading awareness about Indian football.

I-League needs some quality foreigners. We can improve only when our players get chances to rub shoulders alongside quality players.

I-League 2012-13

Post by LIF2012 »

Starting a new thread for the upcoming season of I-League. Hopefully, this time around, at-least the important matches will be telecast by a reputed channel. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Time to bring out your pre-season predictions guys. I think this time the I-League trophy will go out of Goa - preferably to East Bengal cabinet. I will put my money on the Red-&-Gold brigade, closely followed by Dempo, Churchill and Salgaocar. Prayag United might surprise a few heavy-weights, but although they have made a quality team, I don't see them progressing beyong top-5. Here is my prediction for the top-half of the table:

Champions: East Bengal
Runners: Dempo
3rd: Churchill
4th: Salgaocar
5th: Prayag
6th: Mohun Bagan
7th: Pune FC

The relegation battle will be equally interesting, if not more. I think United Sikkim, ONGC, Air India nd Mumbai FC will be fighting it out to avoid the drop. If I have to choose two teams that would be relegated, I will go with ONGC and Air India.

I hope at-least 35 of the total agreed upon 75 matches (live+delayed) are shown live. Lst time around, Ten Actions goofed up big time. In 2011-12, they did not even telecast the virtual title decider between East Bengal and Dempo :(
