Mohun Bagan banned for two years. On the one hand, I think this is the right decision. But, as a diehard Bagan fan, I sympathize with them. What do you do if your best player is hit by a brick and seriously injured? Salt Lake Stadium is in more or less East Bengal "territory". I would have played on under protest and asked for action after the match.

Ridiculous decision to ban Mohunbagan, football is struggling for popularity in India and you AIFF bans one of the most popular clubs. Absolutely stupid, rules must be applied with commonsense.

Round 15 results
---------------------

ONGC 1-0 East Bengal
Sporting club 0-0 Shillong
Air India 1-1 Salgaocar
United Sikkim 2-2 Mumbai
Prayag United 2-0 Pune FC
Churchill Brothers 3-1 Palian Arrows

Race at the top is heating up, the difference between the top team Churchill Brothers and No.4 Dempo is only 5 points. Pune lost at a very wrong time. They are now 3 points behind the leader.

In latest update AIFF has lifted 2 yrs suspension on Mohun Bagan and asked them to pay a Rs 2 crore fine ... Also Bagan will start from zero points for remaining I-League matches and could be relegated.

Decions taken in AIFF Executive Committee Meeting on Jan. 15, 2013 - 15 Jan, 2013

If I end up playing back in Britain then I'll appreciate everything that I've got. Maybe that's something I needed to fall in love with the game again.

I-League

Post by jayakris »

The I-League season has started. It's fun to follow at least one team - the Indian Arrows (based in Delhi) with our u17 and u19 kids.

ISL is creating more news and excitement, but here is a diehard news scribe who makes a strong case for why I-League is more important than ISL for our future. Why I League is the Real Deal for Indian Football
