Re: Divij Sharan thread
That's absurd. If they don't have money to go to Australia, they should find a different profession. Part of being a tennis player is also being an entrepreneur and securing funds. These are wild assertions being made on this forum. If Leander could do it 20 years ago with the economy in doldrums, s...

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
How is it that poor old Somdev had no idea what was happening when the rest of the world knew? Even if he wasn't communicated to personally (it seems like AITA was speaking with Sanam and Vishnu and neither have denied this), surely he saw it on the news in video (or is video not as good as paper)--...

heck, if andy flower could play with a black armband when his life was in danger, surely our business class maharathis could have taken an AC bus to Delhi.

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
I haven't seen Zeehshan in the last couple of years but last I saw him in Dubai, he was still in pretty good nick. I do wonder if he would be a better bet than our current roster? That is, of course, if he's in-shape and plays regularly

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
As I'd suspected, many of the players didn't really know what they were getting themselves into when they joined the letter...I think guys like Vishnu are stuck with Karti: “I thought we were just negotiating with AITA but I never thought things would get this bad. We players are constantly in touch...

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
I get pretty mad too when I keep hearing Karti as some sort of a savior. If you'd like to see an ex-player of repute head things, I could sign on to that idea but Karti this and karti that makes me pretty mad as that simply shows your allegiance is to one tyrant over another.

Re: Divij Sharan thread
Seriously, are the Indians now protesting against ATP for not doing enough? Why aren't they playing anywhere?

Not really. Tie is quite open. Jeong wil win both his matches. India should win doubles. 2-1. Matches against 439-ranked Lim will decide the tie.

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
Whatever politics is being played, nobody can deny AITA has done nothing for Indian Tennis. Ever. You talk to guys like Jeevan and you will know they get nothing. Rather AITA has a demoralizing influence. Its absence would have helped the players. Given a choice, players like Jevaan are expected to...

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
Regardless of which side of the political divide we fall on, perhaps someone from the anti-cattleclass brigade can explain how this can possibly be a reason to strike against your country! I mean, can you imagine Krishnan or Paes saying, even at their prime, "We won't go to France until you sen...

Re: Davis Cup 2013 - India
A few observations: (1) Hironmoy Chatterjee is the "CEO" of AITA but he also happens to be Secretary of Bengal Tennis Association. Obviously part of Anil Khanna's divide and conquer regime. Aren't CEO's supposed to be professionals and not cronies? Just makes my blood boil every time I he...
