Re: Cricket Statistics and Trivia

I don't think it is right to compare different eras. Earlier generations didn't have the benefit of helmets, protective equipment, the current no-ball rule, restrictions on bouncers and beamers, DRS, neutral umpires and so on. Plus there used to uncovered pitches. Over the years cricket rules have e...

Sad for a country that produced the likes of Borg, Wilander, Edberg and Jarryd. What a fall!!

Re: Badminton Asia Team Championships

Indian women's team wins. Anmol Kharb seems to be a big star in the making. No one expected India to win. Even though many countries sent B teams this is still a great achievement.

Re: Badminton Asia Team Championships

Indian men have drawn Japan in the quarters. Japan has sent a full strength team. So this would be a tough match. On current form I would rate Japan as favourite. Women on the other hand drew the weakest opponent in the quarters and are through to the semis. So Sindhu gets to play at least 3 matches...

Re: Badminton Asia Team Championships

Prannoy got blown away in the 1st game. But came back to beat the World No. 16. Good start for India. Maybe he's getting back into the groove.

Re: Badminton Asia Team Championships

India just beat China. Even though it is a B team it is a great achievement since lot of Chinese players tend to be under ranked.

In the meantime Prannoy lost his singles match to a lower ranked player. Hope we can pull through aainst Hong Kong.

India may have missed a trick by not including Malvka Bansod. Among the woman players she is in reasonably good form.

Re: Indian domestic cricket/ players

I think Indian cricket is on terminal decline. I don't want to sound like a naysayer but the reality is between 2007 and 2019 India performed exceptionally well due to some great individuals- Kohli, Dhoni, Ashwin, Jadeja, Shami and Rohit and later Bumrah. All are nearing the end of their careers (Dh...

The most (in)famous pressure situation for Saha was in a test in Australia in 2015 when he and Kohli could have taken India to voctory but he threw away his wicket.

Re: India Challengers February 2024

His opponent was threatening a dangerous comeback, which Sumit sensed and took medical breaks and all, and at 54 30 all (one can see the point which also has a luxury of replay) Sumit clearly hit it out and pre emted the umpire decision with a celebrity shout to confuse the umpire who called it in....
