Re: Indian Table Tennis Thread ...

Absolutely stunning performance. Looks like CN has 6 of the top 7 players in the world ranking and we only have 3 in the top hundred (36, 49, and 96). So is the ranking not representative of quality because players play different slates of tournament or are we on the rise? That is, will be have top...

Re: Indian Table Tennis Thread ...

This Chinese lady, Wang Miyu world #4, is really good at gamesmanship and slowing the game anytime Ayhika gets any momentum. Lots of good fight from Ayhika but she is 2 games down now.

At least not in an actual sport played globally so not counting something like billiards.

We are comfortably beating HK in the women's QF as expected. 2-0 up and Ashmita has won her first game.

Re: Badminton Asia Team Championships

Will Lakshya Sen gain anything in term of Olympic qualification by wins here ? Because I think he is the only one with marginal chance for us. Prannoy, Sindhu, SatChi have their places sealed I guess along with one of Tresa-Gayatri and Ashwini-Tanisha. Lakshya with 5 wins would have a chance to rep...

Re: Indian Table Tennis Thread ...

It is a bit strange that we did not play Sreeja in the second singles given she has clearly been our most inform player in recent times.

Manika, as expected, lost 1-3 against the WR #1.

Ayhika has lost her first set/game against the WR #4.

Manika vs world #1 Sun in the 4th match, Manika will lose so we will go 2-2 into a decisive match.

Re: Indian Table Tennis Thread ...

The commentators for ESPN are like "what the fuck", "what are we watching" and laughing away at how ridiculous this is.

China won every match 3-0 in Chengdu in 2022. This is just absurd. In fact, they only lost 2 sets over 21 matches.

Re: Indian Table Tennis Thread ...

Still expect China to win from here but what a performance. We will have to beat their world #1 or #2 again to win the tie.

Re: Indian Table Tennis Thread ...

Man I am jinxing Sreeja so bad. She was 2-0 up and 8-2 up in the 3rd when I started watching. It is 10-10 now. She had a match point at 11-10 and now it is 11-11 again. MP again at 11-12. And it is 13-11 and Sreeja has beaten the World #2 in straight games. WTF am I watching here. We are beating Chi...

Re: Indian Table Tennis Thread ...

I don't know how this has happened but Ayhika Mukherjee has beaten the World #1 Chinese player 3-1 in the first match. Manika lost the second match to World #4 Chinese player 1-3 in the second match. But take a bow Ayhika. Unless I am hallucinating and did not read the results correctly, this almost...

Re: England in India 2024-25 : The Pataudi Trophy

Agree with atithee and the rest here on Jadeja. We need 500 runs minimum in the first innings. I expect England to score 500 in 4 sessions in their response on this patta pitch. Gill and KL are going to set records for Indian batsmen with the lowest test averages who played 80+ tests. KL already has...

Actually saying "Hello civilization" what ticked of most of the people. That was racist. This is the point. It is quite ridiculous coming from a war mongering nation with little to no historical civilizational contributions. And when you add her lack of achievement in tennis, it comes off...

Typical Serbs more like. They have ruined their part of the world and spread that ideology elsewhere too.
