Re: The Indian Domestic Season 2011-12 Thread
TP Sudhindra from MP looks like a good prospect. He lost a couple of years due to ICL, but is doing really well this Ranji season, with 24 wickets at 16.45. Awana from Delhi is also doing good. These guys should be given atleast an A team chance. Tyagi and Sangwan, the perennials in A team are clear...

Re: West Indies in India, Nov-Dec 2011
The problem is if they do that, Jadeja will have to come at #6. Moving Parthiv to opening slot helps us play an extra bowler/all-rounder, and at the same time, not make our batting look weaker (atleast on paper). Regarding Saha, I don't remember, but does he open?

Re: General Cricket Thread ...
I still don't understand why these guys did not follow the Cronje-Gibbs-Boje formula of avoiding setting foot on English land. England is like a 2nd home to Paki cricketers. They are to be found more in England than back home. I guess the plan is that by the time they get out of jail, they will be ...

Re: England in India, 2011 ODIs
Put simply, a match-winner is one who can win the match on his own, or take the game away from the opposition on his own. Amongst, Gauti, Kohli, Dhoni, IMO noone qualifies as a match-winner. Dhoni was probably 1 earlier, but not anymore. They are merely filler players. Of course, if everyone of thes...

Re: England in India, 2011 ODIs
Again a very weak team. We have only 2 genuine match-winners in Yuvi and Sehwag, who are both out. Tendu, Raina and Zak(on bowling side) can be dubbed as half-match-winners. So we are effectively playing with half a match-winner. Don't see us winning this series as well. Don't know why selectors are...

Re: Indian Badminton Thread ...
This has been our best collective performance in a while, and that too in Asia, where our guys usually don't do well. Nobody lost to a lower ranked player and there have been quite a few wins over higher-ranked opponents.

Re: Indian domestic cricket/ players
Well actually I would like to see Manoj Tiwari selected ahead of Rahane. He seems to have got a fresh breath of life since 2011 IPL. It will be almost criminal to ignore his current form. Rahane hasn't been as consistent as one would like. Tiwari is very consistent, but coming lower down the order, ...

Re: Ramkumar Ramanathan thread
This repeated thrashing week-after-week cannot be good for anybody's psyche. All this traveling and losing in the 1st round may wear him out very soon. Hoping that he has strong mental build not to let this happen. Ideally you would like to see someone dominate (or atleast close to dominate) 1 level...

Re: Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
Very interesting that all our 3 talented youngsters chose to try out futures in completely different places (and at far ends of the globe). Aishwarya's decision seems to be the best so far. Difficult to fathom Kyra's decision to play in South America unless there is some local interest there - relat...

Re: India in England, Summer 2011
This is probably the biggest challenge Dhoni has faced so far in his career. Worst, even his batting is being scrutinized now. I believe his batting is what should be under scrutiny. His captaincy has been generally good, except for sometimes backing clearly undeserving individuals over more talent...

Re: India in England, Summer 2011
Raina has been found out in England. I just wish it had happened earlier in WI, but a lack of quality opposition made him look better than he was. Instead of wasting time on him, why didn't we try better Test prospects like Badri or Rohit? The blame lies squarely on Shrikant and Dhoni.

Re: India in England, Summer 2011
Well almost all that I had said about Indian batting came true. We again failed to cross 300. Dhoni and the tail once again proved to be totally inept. The burden once again fell on only Dravid and Laxman. Yuvi managed to carry some of his WC form into a Test match. This was a minor surprise though!...

Re: India in England, Summer 2011
Does anybody here seriously think we have the batting to score more than 300 (other than on featherbed pitches, even there we wont score more than 350)? If we couldn't do it in WI against a crappy bowling attack, what are our chances now?

I think first round losers get 1 point. So she should get atleast 1 more point. Hoping for many more though
