Re: Somdev Dev Varman ...

I also would have preferred him playing in Montreal on the current form from Washington...but this is the less risky option I suppose. Unless he wins the tournament in Binghampton though, he will fall out of the to 150. Even if he wins his ranking will drop because he has 90 points to defend and the...

Re: 2009 LA Tennis Open (July 27th-August 2nd 2009)

Thanks narora--I split the topic and moved the relevant posts to this thread because I don't think most people saw it there in the Somdev thread. Also, I am guessing that even after this wildcard shootout Somdev and Prakash will be in the qualies here...and hoping that one of them, if not both will ...

Re: Prakash Amritraj thread...

So Kash only gained 5 points this week in Manchester, and will therefore be 23 points poorer because of the 28 lost from Aptos.

Should drop further, to about 270 in the rankings.

Re: US$75K Aptos, CA Challenger, July 13-19th 2009

Great Stuff Sommie!!! He seems to be winning his matches quite convincingly...Hopefully he really has found the form of last summer--it's important because of all the points he'll lose in the next few weeks from Lexington, Vancouver and Washington. A total of 234 points he has to defend there in the...

Re: Davis Cup (for India) 2009

So I'm a little unsure about who our fourth player is going to be? Rohan's been injured and barely plays singles anymore anyway. Harsh obviously doesn't play singles either. So Yuki? Vishnu? Thoughts?

Re: Doc's Near Death Experience

Was just going through my inbox and looking at old messages...Look at this one from a year ago to the day! Hi, The Philcrest Tennis Club that hosts the Tulsa Challenger had its board meeting today and my colleague, Dr David Siegler proposed that Somdev be given a wild card at Tulsa Challenger and it...

Re: Prakash Amritraj thread...

i am aware about his new 250 + ranking and what i wrote that in event of a win at manchester coupled with 20 points earned in newport it would propel him in the 175 - 200 range where he would be static for some time unless he has some outstanding results which we always wish for.Rajiv But Rajiv, yo...

Re: 2009 Wimbledon Championships

As you can see I lost heart after he lost that second set---and I didnt even remember at the time that it was best of 5

I dont see him ever getting a better opportunity in his career---this time next month he'll be languishing between 250-300

Re: 2009 Wimbledon Championships

[Q3] (28) Prakash Amritraj (IND, 154) leads Michael Yani (USA, 253) 6-3 5-7 0-0 Ok--Doubly good news! Not only has the score changed which means no injury...but it's jumped ahead a game and Kash broke Yani for 4-2! Unfortunately, the scoreboard is being very sporadic, so I cannot give detailed upda...
