Davis Cup 2005 (WG playoff vs SWE in India!)

It would certainly be a good idea for AITA to approach the South African tennis association quietly (perhaps through Vijay Amritraj) and broach the topic of sharing the Davis Cup for 1974.

Harsh Mankad thread -upto July 2005

Mighty close match, against an Italian playing on his home clay.
Let's hope Harsh gets a lucky-loser slot, because he looks to be in fine fettle and will look better with each clay-court match.

2005 ASIAN TOUR: Volvo Masters of Asia

Astonishing that the likes of KJ Choi and Fred Couples chose to play an APGA tournament last week ahead of some big events available on the PGA and EPGA tours. Decent show by Shiv, who continues to demonstrate his potential.

Uzbekistan, F4 15K Futures

Very exciting to see that Karan will be playing Jamie Delgado again, because Karan holds a 1-0 career record against this British player! In his debut at the Challenger level, Karan Rastogi (at the age of 16 and a half) beat Jamie Delgado in the first qualifying round of the New Delhi Challenger in ...

Mustafa Ghouse thread ...(Qualifies into China F1 MainDraw!)

The fellow who beat Mustafa had an easier victory in Q2, over the guy who had beaten 6th-seeded local Uros Vico in Q1. Here's the score: Jean-Claude Scherrer (SUI) d. Paul Baccanello (AUS) 7-6(9) 6-0 He gets to play another Aussie in the final qualifying round (Clinton Thomson, who beat Motomura, th...

We're going to Istanbul !!!!!!!!!

The last vestige of the British Empire is the legacy of English football-club fans in the old colonies...!! I used to watch a lot of English league football in the 1970s (on Bangladesh TV!). It was exciting, no doubt, but I soon figured that it was ridiculous to get caught up in the rivalries of tow...

What an astonishing performance by Vijay Singh. And good to see that Arjun finally played a good round of golf worthy of his recent form.

Indian Amateur and Young Golfers

Daniel also has been playing on the EPGA and Nationwide tours for much longer, and is probably slightly better known than the other Indian players internationally. Of course, with his title wins on the EPGA tour in 2002 and 2003, and his good run on the PGA tour this year, Arjun is probably just as ...

2005 Golf Contest Champion VISHNU- Sandeep wins final week

Garcia has been in blazing form throughout, and should win it in a canter -- implying that it will boil down to a contest between Ajay and Kunal, with Ajay (who has Vijay in his line-up) fully hedged for any alternative result. Ajay seems to be strengthening his grip on the contest...

Poorly timed comment, if ever there was one. Arjun sadly imploded after that. I hope he has a steadier final round, although this course appears to be very difficult...
