Re: US Claycourt Challengers, April 2019

I was referring to the ones at River Oaks Club where they hold the US Clay Court every year.

There used to be (public) real red clay courts somewhere on Cape Cod but that's well over a decade ago. No idea if they are still around.

Hmm - I don't think so, at least not if we're talking about the tournament here in Houston, which is red clay...

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020

Is Srikanth really a no-hoper? With a good draw could he make a semifinal?

Great insight. It is a thing of inches, he's maybe 2-3% slower than at his best but that is enough to reduce the number of opportunities to hit the inside out.

Bala is parterning Erlich? Wow...can't believe this guy is still playing. He and Andy Ram were the first well known Israeli players (to me, at least). Pretty sure they were the first famous Israeli pair , but both Shlomo Glickstein & Amos Mansdorf were ranked in the top 25-30 in doubles as indi...

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread

It's wonderful to see one of our guys actually *plan* a course of action. After years of being bewildered by everything Yuki and some of our other worthies do, this is welcome.

Completely agree. I have never understood all the outrage. If you don't want to be out, don't leave the crease early.

That's very cool!

I wonder about the definition of city vs urban area though. I think the urban area of Mexico City has a larger population than his number, and the city of Tokyo has a smaller population. As long as they are consistent...

I'd hold *my* nose and take Atithee's 11, by a nose. I do want Kuldeep, but not enough to tolerate Dhoni.

Fantastic win. I felt like Prajnesh had a strong chance to qualify, but very little chance of beating Paire. Very happy to be proven wrong!!
