Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Sumit had to send an urgent request for help to the UK High commission in Delhi for a visa appointment, to be able to go to Wimbledon, and he got the High Commissioner to respond quickly. She also commented below his tweet, "glad to help, but I may feel differently if you beat a British uy in t...

Re: Indian origin table tennis players
So, Kanak Jha served his 12 month suspension and is now considered clean, as far as spinach is concerned? Yes, the suspension was for 12 months from Dec'22 to Dec'23 for missing three tests. Then, when he was provisionally suspended, he participated in some activities which are not allowed when you...

That was a nice run for Arjun and Jeevan, beatin the first and 2nd seeds to take the title. Arjun is 102 in live rankings now, very close to his career high at #98

^^^ No there were no RB or SM pages at the old TennisIndia... We were going great here by then and I got lazy.

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India
We are not going down that easily... Comeback from 1-5 to 4-5 with 2 breaks and serving. Wow, some spirited tennis suddenly from us. We saved 3 or 4 match pts earlier (which were playoff points for Korea too, as they anxiously wait for us to lose) At 5-6, we saved 2 more match pts from 15-40 and fin...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India
It is all over guys. Ankita has nothing left. Thank you, Ms. Shalini Thakur. I cannot believe Ankita herself would be so foolish and do this to the country. 16 13 in doubles. China is not tanking. They are shellacking Korea 60 30 in doubles. But Korea will advance thanks to Shalini/Ankita foolishnes...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India
Korea took a singles match in a surprise, and are at 1-1 against China. If they beat China in doubles, they advance even if we win the doubles (on a 3-way tie among CHN, KOR, IND with 4-1 records)

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India
^^^ There isn't. You cannot candy this up, to use the old Texas phrase. It is a disgrace how Ankita and Shalini have screwed this up. We should be so easily advancing, considering the great form Rutuja and Prarthana are in. Instead, we may not. Let us just pray that Ankita can somehow muster up some...

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India
Ankita vs Lulu. If this tie goes to the doubles rubber, beating Erin Routliffe is not going to be an easy task. The mindless idiocy continues. Ankita down 2 breaks at 1-5. Don't we have any brain cells at all? I cannot believe that we have Shalini Thakur as the captain and she does not have the aut...

What was the score of the Rutu match? I had to step away when she got broken at 62 44 and it looked like she was letting it slip.
EDIT: Okay... 62 76(5)... Wow, nice comeback at the end, Rutuja!!

Re: Billie Jean King Cup (previously Fed Cup) - India
Are we really going to trust Ankita in singles when we could field either one of Shrivalli or Sahaja? :damn: I think she can still replace Ankita with Sahaja, because Sahaja is higher ranked than Rutuja. If Rutuja loses, we probably have to send in Ankita for us to stay alive, hoping for a miracle ...
