Re: England tour of India, Nov-Dec 2008
Why do we need to discount last 10-12 innings of Dravid? Is it becoz he did not play those innings or may be he did not get paid for those innings? Is he not t Because in order to compare who needs a longer rope for rescue (which is just a hypothetical exercise), you have to consider the situation ...

Re: Indian domestic cricket/ players
This Ranji season is setting up quite nicely. Lots of good matches in the last phase of the round robin. Ganguly will most likely turn up for Bengal (against Goa) in the Plate league semi-finals. If they win that match, Bengal will qualify for the Super league quarterfinals.

Re: England tour of India, Nov-Dec 2008
The latter part was perhaps put loosely. I would think Tendulkar, Ponting, Hussey, Sangakarra, Kallis, Mhd. Yousuf, Jayawardene, deserve it more than him among the current players. For it to be a fair comparison, you'll have to discount the last 10-12 matches in Dravid's case. Once you do that, I d...

Re: England tour of India, Nov-Dec 2008
I'm afraid we'll witness the same old story tomorrow. As has been on innumerable occasions before, Sehwag delivers in the 4th innings chase, scores at a scorching pace and sets up the game for his team. Once he departs, the rest of the team is thoroughly exposed and they pretend as if they are playi...

Re: England tour of India, Nov-Dec 2008
England have a lead of 75 runs. Pathetic display from our batsmen, and some tidy bowling by the English. Looks like Dravid's days are now numbered. Dhoni seems to have injured himself while running between the wickets and needed some attention from the physio. I hope it is nothing serious.

Re: Terror attacks in Mumbai
C'mon Puneet. Saying Islam does not approve such crimes doesn't even come close to what I am asking for. This is about as cliche as you can get. LET, Pakistan, Imams, etc. all parrot this phrase. Perhaps you could direct me to some of these citations and I will be glad to stand corrected. I watched...

Re: Terror attacks in Mumbai
The Bollywood, which seems to be ruled by the muslims, at least on the male actor side, is the worst culprit in my books. The only one who utters something useful in this sense seems to be Shabana Azmi. With the fan following they have, the movie industry muslims can do a lot but sadly they choose ...

Re: Terror attacks in Mumbai
I guess he had gone to SA on a 'vacation', the same way as Indian players left to their respective homes after the cancellation of the last 2 ODIs. I don't blame him for taking this convenient 'vacation'.

Re: England tour of India, Nov-Dec 2008
I'm not saying that 'country first' is the wrong attitude. All I'm saying is that people who think the bottom-up way are not 'wrong'.
Can you name a few politicians whom you would vote for ?

Re: England tour of India, Nov-Dec 2008
Think country first, then comes about yr local culture, religion or whatever that may be. This is easier said than done. People will always think in a bottom-up hierarchical manner. First it's your family, then your friends, your community, the city, state and then the country. In fact this is the ...

Terror attacks in Mumbai
These attakcs are of truly monumnetal proportion. My prayers are with all the victims and the people who are still held up as hostage. Very sad and shocking !

Re: England tour of India, Nov-Dec 2008
There is too much of mollycoddling in cricket. IMO, it makes perfect sense that the match was not abandoned and the spectators got a chance to see the players in action. During the light situation in Kanpur, people were of the opinion that ICC should do whatever is physically possible to try to fini...
