Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

What hypocrisy! Now I know why when someone said Paes stuck to Navratilova, its not an issue. And its not my problem what you or others think or how you interpret my posts. That is solely your problem. And Black won her only mixed slam with Paes? Really? Do you even follow tennis?

Re: Tennis at the London Olympics 2012

Didn't want to comment on this crap. But I know nobody else will. This has become Leander forum now and anyone who abuses other players are applauded. And well, Sania is the only noteworthy ''mediocre'' female player we have been able to produce ever. So show some respect. Glorify whoever you want, ...

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

I just hope that Vesnina gets her 1st slam today. She is too good a player not to have won one already. Saw the 3rd set in the morning. She was very sharp. They will start as the favourites. Hope she and Sania get back together. :goodluck:

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

PKB, these are records from Wikipedia. If you think its absurd, I can't help it. I understand you are a staunch Lee supporter but to think that Bhupathi still needs to worship Lee for the latter's support in his early days is ridiculous. And what about Rohan? Who helped it make it big in doubles? I ...

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

Paes yet to win French. I think Mahesh became the 1st Indian to win a slam in 1997. He is the only player in Open Era to win all the mixed doubles slams twice- a fact that most people are dismissing as trivial. Mahesh also completed his career slam in 2006 (in mixed)- at a time Paes was yet to win a...

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

Are you telling me? Its Rajorshi, actually. Now where did Rohan come in? I thought I was only an "ardent Bhupathi fan" till now :kookoo: I accept that they are legends but sorry no one is "way ahead" of the other. Paes has a long way to go before he can match Bhups in mixed doubl...

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

I also agree with your comments above to rajorshi. You did the honors and saved me time. I too was not fully amused at rajorshi's "funny" comment :) It was not supposed to be amusing :p But the issue of Ad-court and Deuce-court is non-trivial. Sania would need to change courts and do at l...

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

Funny how people are expecting two people to get us a medal, who didn't consider their games complementary enough to play even in 1 slam! Anyway whats done is done. I hope Sania doesn't struggle like yesterday's Kudrayetseva. The latter is clearly a forehand player but had to play on the ad court b...

Re: Tennis at the London Olympics 2012

At the same time, I must say that what was happening immediately before and during Wimbledon was creating unnecessary pressure for us all. Despite winning the French Open mixed doubles, it was as if we needed to do well in Wimbledon to prove ourselves. It was unfair and was creating unhealthy press...

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

That last expression is typical of Shedova!
Comparatively easier match in the final for LP/EV. Will Elena have another breakdown? ;)

Paes/Ves saved 8 out of 10 bps. But low winning % on 2nd serve.

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

LP/EV down a break 2-4. If they win, they may have an easier match against Raymond/Mike in the final.
They immediately break back. 3-4

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

Serena's critics- the 2 Martinas are watching the final! Missed 2 set points. No 1st set bagel win. :damn: Gets the 1st set 6-1! :D Radwanska makes a comeback. From being down 2-4, its 5-4 now. Rad takes 2nd set 7-5. 1ST 3-SETTER WOMENS SINGLES FINAL AT WIMBLEDON SINCE 2006. Mauresmo had won that on...

Re: Wimbledon (All England Lawn Tennis Championships) 2012

They will need a very easy draw and some luck to do anything whatsoever. Max/Azarenka, Kvitova/Stepanek and the Americans are the ones to avoid.

Radwanska tried a drop shot in her very 1st service point! Lost it though.
