Re: Bugs and errors for the new configuration.... (Suggestions..

I want to poll the forum members about a particular topic and I am unable to do so. Can someone tell me how to make a poll so that the members can vote on it? Thanks in advance.

Re: Do the sports bodies in India have a vision?

Jay and Bhushan, May I have the permission to insult the pachyderms again? Sincerely, The Mahout Dear Atithee, You have been a member of Sports-India for quite some time and by now you should have known that we are a bunch of "reactive" kind of guys and by no means we are "proactive&...

Re: $50K CH Sacramento/ Calabasas, Oct 2008 (PA, SD, HM, AS)

I hope someone has the answer to what is ailing Somdev's game. Jay, did Somdev come down with flu-like illness and is slowly recovering from it or was it just a rumour?

In the near term, the focus needs to be on providing a large fiscal stimulus without wasting too much breath on redistributive taxation (which can come later, if necessary to balance the budget 2-3 years down the road). Re: Indian Badminton Thread ...

Bhushan, You make an interesting comparison with China. I think they must have 20 such academies. At this point in time, I would like India to do as well as Malaysia. Re. the quality of the support staff, I know that Prakash has ex-players like Vimal Kumar on his team and also reasonable sponsorshi...

Re: Sub-prime crisis and Bear Stearns

In these trying times, it is difficult for me to envision whether McCain or Obama will bring a better team in January 2009 to tackle this crisis.

Re: Re:

Thanks Bhusan. It was an awesome game. Neither team deserved to lose. I saw only about 5 minutes of the game and the announcers kept saying that it was an outstanding match. Whether any team deserves to lose or not, one team must win and the Longhorns won today. I preferred the outcome of the match...

Re: Indian Badminton Thread ...

i think both the schools in banglore and hyderbad are run by former champions like pullela gopichand and prakash padukone Prakash and Gopichand were outstanding players and probably are great badminton coaches, but it takes more than a coach to make an academy into a world-class one. Any idea how d...

Re: $50K CH Sacramento/ Calabasas, Oct 2008 (PA, SD, HM, AS)

Thanks gigado_1 for giving us a first hand account of the matches of Somdev, Prakash and Rajeev. Usually Somdev hits fairly deep groundstrokes against hard hitters and I wonder if his recent illness (according to one report) has made him weak to hit hard and run all over the court.

Sorry Doc, don't spoil the story with facts. I prefer to think that Somdev was suffering from bird flu :-) Suresh The news from IIT, Chennai is that an Indian tennis player has Bird Flu because this player has been eating like a bird and has been losing strength on the court. ;) Hopefully he will r...
