This post isn’t about a current player. Admins feel free to move it if there’s a more appropriate place for it. I never heard of Sayeeda before but her achievements are impressive. Re: ITF W25 Gurgaon, India -June 20-July 3, 2022
How easy—I see it in Indian tournaments far too often that the draw miraculously pits foreigners and Indians against each other. The probability of this happening with such regularity has to be very low. Anyone else noticed this over the years? There’s definitely a rule in the juniors. Two players ...

Re: Where is Jai_in_Canada?
Maybe we should have a roster with all our contact info. Or a WhatsApp group like Vishnu suggested. If someone goes missing, we can at least call and check on them.
I am glad so many old timers are still somewhat regular. Bhushan ji’s passing was really tough for me to digest.

Congrats Team India! Rushil’s wins are impressive. Under pressure in front of friends and family, he delivered. Honda is a good player. Watched him for a bit in 2020 at a J5 in Tirana, Albania. He was 14 back then and did have very good foot speed and movement like most Japanese players do. Good thi...

I do not like the fact, they just keep boosting and CDC sometimes issues guidelines that do not appear to follow science. What makes you say that, Kumar? Data is constantly becoming available and if anything, they are trying to follow science pretty closely. They are also dealing with pressure from...

Re: General Tennis Discussions
The government or the organizers don’t pay for Covid tests in any of the other countries that I am aware of. The tournament hotels in some of the countries are really bad even in the US and Canada. Super 8 and another dingy model were the official hotels in Canada recently and they were pathetic. We...

Rishab's continuing collapse in singles is sad to see. Is Rishab the guy who had a long injury break. I was speaking to someone recently who knows Rishab well and he was talking about a finger injury or an injury to the web on his playing hand that kept Rishab out for a while. Unless I am confusing...

Re: The 1983 World Cup
The best part after the whole thing was that the World Cup made it to our high school and we all got to touch it. It was kept on the assembly stage until everyone in the school got a chance to go up to the stage and touch it. No pictures unfortunately. This was obviously before the cell phone days. ...

Re: Coronavirus SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19)
Thanks for the updates, Jay. Where do your numbers come from? Two of my cousins in Hyderabad tested positive this morning. I am keeping a close eye on India and Telangana. NJ has been pretty badly hit with Omicron these past two days. My neighbors, friends and a bunch of folks from the tennis club t...

Thanks PKB for all the match reports and nuggets. Yes, the top two juniors ranked in the top 100 get direct entries. It’s a great way to start their pro career.

Yeah, we let our older one, Karan, skip Kindergarten. He’s Nov born and our school’s cutoff is Sept 1. He was the youngest in his class all though school. Started college before he turned 18. The school district was super strict though. Besides basic testing to see if he was ready, they ran through ...

I am not sure but he may decide to go pro after spending some time in college. He is 2003 born, so no more juniors after this year. I was hoping to see him play pro events this year but he skipped them all. That’s not true. He is technically eligible to play juniors until September of 2022 as he on...
