Sania/Mary were actually up 4-0 in the final set. It's a pity they lost. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the match and I tihnk Sania played some unbelievable points.

I think these sports journos have really early bedtimes
They seem to only report matches that end by 6pm.
Neither Sania's nor Manisha's matches were covered

Manisha's 1st round performance also went unnoticed, except for a mention in the "scores" section below the articles.

I was also quite disappointed that Isha got no mention in the papers. I guess they didn't follow her to much. Besides, the pressmen may not even have heard of Vento before and so probably didn't think Isha's win was all that surprising. Just a theory.

Just wondering if any of these players check out Jay's site or this forum -- at least they will know what a chance they missed out on... Or is there a chance that they possibly aren't acquainted with the WTA procedures and never knew that they would eventually be able to literally walk into the qual...

How many tourneys can a 16 year old play? Maybe Sania does not want to exhaust her quota?

I agree that Aurelija Miseviciute has to be the frontrunner here. Veterans who could do well are Rushmi and Suchanan.
