I think 'luck' is the right word. I have always felt that the judging in walking is quite subjective.But his luck ran out.

Unless one is a great sprinter in the home straight, it is quite difficult to escape from boxed in situations. It needs quick thinking and the ability to make changes to plan. With so many controversial decisions, they should seriously think about a revamp of the scoring system in boxing.
