Re: 2012 Summer olympics
However, when an opponent is injured and unable to compete it is in poor taste as an athlete and a fan to do any celebrating. Saina didn't celebrate but a lot of fans are basking in glory. Are you saying that people should don black and cry over the injury to the Chinese? Saina deserve the medal an...

Re: 2012 Summer olympics
Rathore was already an officer in the Army having gone through NDA and IMA. Vijay Kumar as a subedar, is a NCO (non-commissioned officer) so it is harder for him to be promoted to a Colonel - may be a Major. The rank Subedar is not a NCO but JCO (Junior Commissioned Officer). Maybe they will immedi...

Re: 2012 Summer olympics
Kujo, you are 100% correct.. unfortunately the record is same .. so your conclusion cannot be proved.. I would be really surprised if that is not the case..The other semifinals will be over in less than half of the time. btw, which part is joke ? Even with the Chinese regimented system, it is hard t...

Not by Chetri but by Sreejesh. Chetri was replaced at half time and Sreejesh did a pretty job in the second half. I think they should persist with him in future matches.ssp wrote:here comes the PC and...Chettri saves yet again

Re: 2012 Summer olympics
Missed Devendro's fight. But reading about his aggressiveness, I am reminded of Sangwan's fight yesterday. I felt that he should have been much more aggressive in the 3rd round knowing that he was down by 2 points. It was a tactical mistake that cost him the bout (apart from unfair points awarded in...

Re: Hockey at the London Olympics, 2012
I wouldn't call the decision of not giving the penalty corner harsh. The infringement deserved a penalty corner but the umpire played advantage which India couldn't capitalize. It was a close call for the umpire, whether to call penalty corner or to give advantage and the umpire decided to go with t...

Re: 2012 Summer olympics
I too think Sangwan should have won. The second round should have gone to him, and that is what made the difference. Sangwan was throwing more punches but the Brazilian defended well. The bout was close and not one-sided as some posters have hinted. Sangwan deserved to win but not by any large margin.

Then let me reword the sentence:

Re: 2012 Summer olympics
I don't think it was a totally unexpected result. Shiva Thapa is only 18 while the Mexican Oscar Valdez is 21 and is a seasoned campaigner.
