Re: Sports and Performance Enhancing Drugs (Doping)

So the Chinese state machinery has become an expert in how to avoid getting caught, but the Russians are still not there? Just speculation on my part. However, their top male swimmer (Sun Yang?) and several women swimmers previously did get caught and they haven't done well at the top level of swim...

Re: Sports and Performance Enhancing Drugs (Doping)

My sense is that in Russia and China etc., the doping is aided by the state. In India and US etc., it is more based on individual efforts or facilitated by certain coaches etc.

Re: ITF M25/M15 New Delhi, Chandigarh - Mar 2024

Good to see Manish and Karan find some form this week! Good luck to all the Indians in the QF! Hopefully, we'll have an Indian winner but #267 Donskoy is playing this event and will likely be the obstacle that they will need to overcome.

Re: Sumit Nagal thread

Yes, taking appropriate rest is quite important for his grinding style of play. Skipping a $175K challenger for a $8MM Masters event seems like a logical decision to me.

2024 All England Open [R1] Lakshya Sen beats #33 M. Johannessen 21-14, 21-14. Next up, a tough challenge against red hot #3 Antonsen who is 17-1 in 2024. Also leads Lakshya 3-1 in head-to-head. :goodluck: Good news for Lakshya is that #13,14, 17-19 in Race to Paris are also out. Only #16 Weng who i...

Manas loses in 3 sets. Wins more points but loses the match. Decent performance against a 500+ ranked opponent.

Re: England in India 2024-25 : The Pataudi Trophy

On a different topic, it is really irritating that the term "chinaman" to describe Kuldeep Yadav's stock ball is no longer usable for some political-correctness reasons. The Chinese should be flattered that there is a term in cricket that comes from a cricketer of Chinese origin inventing...

Bummed that Sumit played as timidly as he did after watching fellow lucky loser Luca Nardi take out the Djoker! In his post match on court interview, Nardi was asked how he could go from losing to #462 a couple of weeks ago to this win over the GOAT….

Re: Sumit Nagal thread

Taking appropriate breaks makes a lot of sense both from injury prevention and also playing fresh perspectives. That’s what most top players do. Playing continuously requires being born with great injury prevention genes or regularly lose in the first round or perhaps both😀.

https://youtu.be/akfNWc-YAgY?feature=shared Saw the race and Parvej literally ran wide the entire race and must have run 30-40 yards more than the leaders. Even then he tried to sprint home a couple of times but got cutoff by a runner in the yellow vest. Hope he learns from this that he need to get ...

Re: Indian Athletics Thread ...

Parvej finishes a disappointing 7th in the final in a slow race. Hopefully, he learned something about tactical running from the otherwise poor race for him.
