Good luck to both Sumit and Yuki!
Both badly need victories at the ATP level and these are "winnable" matches.

Re: Miami Masters 2024
Congrats to Rohan! It is pretty amazing that he is actually having his best results at this age. Most players who do well at older ages are generally at their peaks earlier and extend that run as they get older. Rohan actually seems to better now than he's ever been. Good luck to him!

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Sumit is now at a career high of #95 and is playing #99 Moutet in Marrakech. Moutet just lost in the SF of the Naples clay challenger and if he had won that SF would have moved above Sumit (who would still have been at a career high of #96). So, they will continue their ranking battle in Marrakech!

Re: ITF Team Juniors (u16 Davis/Fed Cup, u14 World Jun. Tennis)
Even more historical update: How we did in 2003 in the world finals 2003 Sep 19: The going has been extremely tough for our u16 teams so far at the Junior u16 Fed & Davis Cup final-16 in Essen, Germany .. Both teams have gone winless in 4 ties each (first three in round robin, and today's tie...

Re: Football: Indian National Team news ...
I don't think Stimac is the problem. We don't have a lot of quality on our team, so qualifying for the WC would be a real long shot for Indian team even if they advanced to the 3rd stage. Of course, would love for them to advance to the 3rd stage to at least play against better teams.

Re: ITF M25/M15 New Delhi, Chandigarh - Mar 2024
That is a very consistent performance by Ramk at the ITF level. Normally, this kind of domination at the lower level bodes well for being competitive at the next higher level. Hopefully, he can win the final and then start competing at the challenger level tournaments.

Would definitely take a gold from Neeraj again which would likely make him India’s greatest Olympic athlete. Notable 8th place predictions for Sreeshanker and men’s 4x400 relay.

Re: Miami Masters 2024
Definitely poor loss for Sumit. At this level, these are about as winnable a match as you can get. That said, Sumit isn't a player with particularly strong weapons, so someone in the 200-300 range playing at their best can easily beat Sumit (even if he is playing at his level) which is what may have...

Re: Yuki Bhambri
Yuki is in Miami. Perhaps he has a wildcard due to his former IMG connection? Nope, got in with Michael Venus whose regular partner Jamie Murray made a late withdrawal. So, Yuki making his madtees series debut in Miami. Yuki/Venus draw second seeds Krajicek/Dodig in the first round, so a tough draw...

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Agree. Nardi is looking at a top 20 ceiling, while Sumit is likely looking at a top 70 ceiling just based on age progression. Nardi also has a bigger serve which will help him stay in top 100 longer than Sumit who has have peak conditioning and effort to win any match at this level.

Yes, he has played the singles main draw at Miami thrice and made the R-64 in 2018. Good luck to him with Venus with whom he’s had success in the past.

Good to see Karan have the raw skills to make an impact at the top 500 level. Hope he can work on polishing his skills to do well on the tour. Ramk has the ability to do well at the challenger level, so hopefully this series of futures will get him going at the challenger level.

Re: Sumit Nagal thread
Good luck to Sumit for this match and he has a decent draw. Not sure how well he can play against top players on hard courts, but if he is in form, this is a winnable match for him.

Re: BWF tournaments Mar 2024
Only benefit would be avoiding #1 Axelson until QF. Otherwise, the rest are beatable if Lakshya or Prannoy are in form.
