Re: Commonwealth Games, 2022
Classic schoolgirl error from Punam. Well, we got a bronze yesterday (Harjeet) when Nigerian did something similar. But Punam is a 2 time CWG gold medalist, this is incorrigible.

Vijay Kumar is alive in the repechange QF of men's 60 kg and Suchika Tariyal is the repechage QF of womend's 57 kg judo...

Re: Commonwealth Games, 2022
I saw Lawn Bowls on Sony LIV. It seemed like a game any couch potato could play, no disrespect to the Indian players who made it through. But astounding that they even consider of including it in the CWG, let alone with so many categories for medals (apparently there since 1930s and India's best fin...

Re: Commonwealth Games, 2022
So, is Jeremy a medal prospect for the next Olympics, or is he a bit too young still? Prospect yes. His Snatch PB of 141 is good but his CnJ PB of 166 is still much below the Chinese/Colombian/Italian/Koreans. Hopefully he improves by the time he is 21. Today he had severe cramps during his CnJ and...

Re: Commonwealth Games, 2022
The table tennis medal loss was bound to happen. The rankings are sort of immaterial in TT when playing against Asian players (especially if outside 100). And in a day when our 'best' player Manika Batra was not in form, we cannot expect to proceed further at all. You have to blame the federation f...

Re: Commonwealth Games, 2022
Srihari Natraj finished 7th on 100M backstroke with 54.32 sec. He was not that far from timing of bronze medalist though. His PB was 0.01 sec better than gold medalist timing here. So, somewhat disappointing. Today, he will be up in 50M backstroke. I think you HAVE to factor in that person swimming...

Re: Commonwealth Games, 2022
We can definitely expect one (if not multiple) medals in cycling, judo this time. There's an outside chance of podium finish even in Lawn Bowls.

Re: BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals
Great victory today! Just as we hoped for (and sort of expected). If our players play to their potential, we might win 3-0 also tomorrow (Touchwood). LS has no business losing to Ginting tomorrow. Indonesian captain Setiawan (one of the "daddies") is resting himself and using their scratch...

Re: BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals
Precisely. Momota was injured in a car crash in 2020 and he hasn't been the same after that. He has 2-1 H2H vs LS though, all from 2021 and the one he lost was at YEC courtesy a retirement. But after his Indonesian masters title last year, Momota went on to lose in R2 in Indonesian Open, retired fro...

Re: BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals
That's correct. His loss against CTC was an "upset" based on their current form but should be give the benefit of doubt that CTC is a former #2 himself and LS never faced him before. His loss against LZJ was not that much of a surprise as LZJ is in hot form and is ranked higher than him bu...
