Too bad..., but the one very encouraging and exciting thing out of these performances by Yuvan is his serve... 200+ kmph first serve is not a joke..., especially for us Indians :D

Re: Yuki Bhambri/ Saketh Myneni (pair) Thread

The year didn't start off great for Yuki/Saki at the Pune ATP, but they recovered to win a CH title in Thailand and were subsequently awarded the APAC wildcard into the Australian Open. It was Saki's first GS main draw entry and their first entry as a pair, but they lost in R1 after running the 14th...

Sonyliv app in India
thanks... I guess no subscription needed for Sony Liv as long as you are in India, right? I might try a VPN and see if it works for me :D

Personally, it's great that at least we have options to watch our juniors live in some form... :-)

Re: Australian Open, Melbourne, GS 2000, Jan 16-29, 2023

Yes, his shotmaking was really good for his age. Down the line backhand already looks like a weapon as he hit at least 3-4 winners with that, backhand in general is very good.Forehand is decent- he was able to force errors from opponent from that wing too, he should add some power to that in next c...

Re: Australian Open, Melbourne, GS 2000, Jan 16-29, 2023

Yuvan won :bounce: :bounce: I was only tracking scores online and he was 0-5 down in the 3rd set before making it back to 6-5, only for his opponent to concede after that break. I was thinking of Jay all the while thinking Yuvan must have heard his advice. :-) Yeah! it was weird... I stopped follow...

Re: Australian Open, Melbourne, GS 2000, Jan 16-29, 2023

Bala/G1 are first up tomorrow (Sunday), on Kia Arena court. They must have caught some attention to be scheduled to play up there or it must have been pre-scheduled before the 5th seeds lost. Either way, good to get some attention. In the R1 match, the crowd supported the 5th seeded pair and our guy...

Re: Australian Open, Melbourne, GS 2000, Jan 16-29, 2023

What a wonderful display of resilience by Bala/G1 to script their best career win on GS debut... Jeevan's serve was a little susceptible at times, but their racquet skills were amazing to watch with some great soft volleys and amazing lobs on display... Bala is now up to his career high at #9...

That would be interesting. The only R1 match that hasn't been played yet is of the 5th seeded pair of Dodig/Krajicek. But if Bala/G1 get that ALT spot, it would be good....

Re: Australian Open, Melbourne, GS 2000, Jan 16-29, 2023

If only our guys converted one of the two set-points in the first set, things could have turned out differently... Can we really say that? There were two sets played after that, and they only won one of those. They could have won the first and lost the next two too, like they lost two breaks after ...
