Re: General Tennis Discussions

Not sure if this has been discussed already What is the role of state tennis associations in our country ? While i am sure they have responsibilities framed by AITA, do they have to submit an annual report to AITA on the development of Tennis in their state. Shouldn't they have details related to f...

Re: 2017 Chennai Open

Let's be honest the top juniors from the 4 slam tennis academy in Spain where ramkumar and sasi are training are the ones who r getting wildcards for the past 2 or 3 yrs (Karen, rublev, elias ymer )etc looks like TNTA and karti has some kind of love bond with this academy Interesting observation th...

So glad for Prajnesh :bounce: Hope he can cross the last hurdle also. Guy deserves this break after years of training abroad and battling injuries.

Re: Indians in US College Tennis

Thanks PK for the enquiry. I'm happy to share my thoughts to the extent I can in a public forum if it helps someone. I'm quite happy with where Arjun is presently. He had a couple of offers to better Universities wrt tennis and academics but we choose MSU since he will be in the top 3, playing match...

Re: $10K India Futures September 2016

When a new player (Siddharth Vishwakarma in this case) does well in an Indian Futures event, one feels that such events are justified. Otherwise, it might appear as an event where more established players collect ATP points. Another big surprise(the pleasant variety) which came out of this tourname...

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...

Vashisht beating a top WTA top 10 player is good news. He definitely had the potential 2 years back and young enough to storm back. Manish if he plays Junior circuit will definitely be in the top 100 or lower. But looks like his think tank prefers to invest their resources on ITF Pro, which is a goo...

Just catching up on the news , Manish Beating Mohit is a huge step for the youngster. Mohit and Ramk are visible recent successes from TN for these boys. Beating one of them will be a big confidence booster for Manish. Well done Manish!!
Also loved the Simon comparison.... spot on!!

Re: Aircel Chennai Open, 2016

While I agree that Sumit has a reason to feel aggrieved, lets not go overboard in this criticism of organisers. Sumit is good talent and he will get his chance and support. Reg. local players getting WC over others : Firstly Chennai Open is funded by local business houses which also sponsor the loca...

Re: Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...

Agree with the above logic only to some extent. Its somewhat offset by the Grade level......Most of the higher grade tournaments happen outside of Asia so its easier, if your good, to pick up points playing lesser tournaments in places like Europe.

Nice win by Dalwinder! That too in his home turf at Harvest acadamy. He along with Sandhu, Jagbir, Udhayan Bhakkar (who went to Australia with the coach who used to be here) are products of this academy which was set up by an NRI from Canada. They had all foreign coaches and trainers to train the bo...
