Re: Sub-prime crisis and Bear Stearns

Buying up all the mortgage backed securities seems like a solution that won't affect the bottom line. What about all those homes in the market that are still vacant and have found no buyers ? As long as we don't address this issue, I don't think that this temporary fix will take us too far.

Re: Sub-prime crisis and Bear Stearns

Apparently desis will play a big role in solving the current housing mess :) Here's what Greenspan had to say: Mr. Greenspan urges the government to avoid tax or other policies that increase the construction of new homes because that would delay the much-desired day when home prices find a bottom. H...

I too don't like the idea of preferential treatment. As per the rules, the player can only be selected if he demonstrates his fitness in a practice game.

:Offtopic: I'm back from a long hiatus. I've now moved from Champaign..presently on the east coast.

Re: Multiple identities in an anonymous forum

I guess that it's time for PKBasu to retire ..and PKBasu2 to take over the reins. If required, I'm willing to start a thread "PKBasu - Time for the great man to retire". Of course, it'll be in the cricket forum.

Re: London Olympics, 2012

I guess our sports administrators rarely look past Delhi, when it comes to hosting big events. If we bid for Olympics, I'm sure that they'll choose Delhi. And as Sandeep pointed out, the commonwealth games will be a big reason behind this choice.

Re: Do not know what to name this thread???

There will always be people who complain, no matter what the situation. You are of the opinion that even if each person helps one person, the world will be a lot better place. There will be someone else who'll say - why not help 2 or 3 people ? If you have the means to help one person, then one more...

Re: Do not know what to name this thread???

Kothai - I'm sure many people do something or the other to help people around them. One should not jump to conclusions that people who complain don't do anything at all to help others. Sometimes it's in the nature of some people to complain about small things.

Re: Mittal Champions Trust Thread ...

Sania does not have enough funds to get a full-time physio! You got to be kidding me. At one point, she was getting more ads than service breaks. She is either too stingy..or too generous with her money. :D

We all complain that Indian sportsperson do not get money and recognition. Now is the time that the whole country recognizes him..he should make use of this opp...
