Re: China Open / Korea Open - Sep 2019
World rankings won’t be used for Olympics qualification and are different from Race to Tokyo rankings. Race to Tokyo ranking is based on points earned during the Olympics qualification period which is April 29, 2019 to April 26, 2020. So we are still very early in the period and these rankings can b...

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020 projections
Are we tracking this Sreeshankar in long jump and think he may not even make finals? I was not aware he did a 8.2m, was following only until Asian games where he did 7.95m. https://m.mensxp.com/sports/other-sports/55236-here-s-why-this-20yo-indian-long-jump-record-holder-is-a-top-medal-prospect-at-o...

Re: Misc. news about Indian hockey
Can anyone tell if we just need to win that ONE game with Pak or those other below par hockey nations to directly qualify for Olympics or is that match one of the other matches to follow for qualification?

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Either we are well on our way to our best ever Olympics by then or we are dealt damage which we won't recover from. You mean our hopes will have been shot early? Or our hopes will get a shot in the arm Every shot can’t bring down the bird, so let’s keep our expectations in check on the first two da...

Re: Indian Shooting thread
This Rio World Cup is no doubt the best case scenario of our potential medal count in shooting at Tokyo. What’s the worst World Cup performance we had in this olympics qualification cycle does anyone remember? Comparing medal events in 2016 and 2020, 2016 : we had 6 rifle/pistol events for Men and 3...

Re: Indian Shooting thread
Gold rush may well continue with mixed events today. It’s a pity we couldn’t get a single quota in shotgun events while we are moving towards full house in rifle & pistol events. In this context it’s sad to remember our first medal ever in shooting was in double trap a shot gun event, so we have reg...

Re: Indian Shooting thread
A worthy quota earned by Sanjeev, i was only expecting a quota from him only from Asian championship. Actually i was wondering how he made it to finals almost disbelieving what i was seeing in live scores , so that was a scoring error earlier then! At this stage we are topping medals with 2G, 1S and...

Re: Indian Shooting thread
We have Saurabh and Abhishek at 2, 3 spots when they completed their rounds, rest of the shooters are yet to complete but i am sure both would qualify for finals. Good to see at least two shooters making to finals in 10m air rifle and pistol events

Re: Indian Shooting thread
We already have full quota of 2 in women’s air rifle , so the only exciting prospect is we can be sending the best possible athletes in this event selected from trials based on their form before olympics

Re: BWF World Championships 2019
Sai Praneeth has a lazy elegance in cricketing terms the way we used to say about classic cricket batsman like VVS, Inzamam ul haq etc.He can be the most text book player among his Indian peers but sadly cricket snd badminton also moved away from the classic age to one where only brute force and rel...

I think Sai Praneeth has already over achieved in this tournament and stands no chance with Momota. I wish SP makes me eat my words but very unlikely

Re: BWF World Championships 2019
I almost gave up on following our badminton on TV until again the singles players started punching above their weight in this world championship. For me it looks like the stint with the recently hired women’s coach Kim ji Hyun has brought some positive results. In a badminton forum I follow they wer...
