Re: Central Asian Challengers - May,June 2019

Tough match for Sumit playing an inform opponent in his home country but this is a match which Sumit needs to win to continue progressing. He has the game to do it but will have to stay patient and slug it out...

Re: Yuki Bhambri

No idea. He has been seen doing all kind of physical exercises in his insta updates, even lifting heavy weights in recent update. Wonder if he can do all those things, why he cannot play tennis. He does not seem to have held a tennis racket yet. Of course, doing these exercises is strengthening his...

Re: Sumit Nagal thread

Yes, may be a blessing in disguise as he gets most of this week off. Playing when fatigued is when you often play with poor form and that results in injury...

However, hopefully he can continue his US form in the next several weeks...

Happy to see him win! However, bummer that it had to be over Saketh when both of them are desperately in need of wins...

Re: US Claycourt Challengers, April 2019

Really nice win by Sumit!

He now faces the winner of #108 Lorenzi (who is clay challenger monster with 19 titles but is 37 years old) and #209 Eubanks (who is very tall and likely has a big serve). Sumit should have a good shot at winning against either of them.

Re: US Claycourt Challengers, April 2019

Yes, this will be a good test. Moutet is a rising player to whom he lost recently albeit from a winning position. Hopefully, he can turn it around. Fully agree that the lack of a decent serve makes it a little harder for him to serve out matches but the serve counts for less on clay, so hopefully he...

Good to see the consistency from Bajrang! Hopefully, he does not overdo it with too many back-to-back events.

Good run for Divij and Marco. Divij also rises to India #1 for doubles. Not sure if this is his first time there...

Re: Prajnesh Gunneswaran thread

All of the joints are prone to injury in tennis. Shoulder, hip, elbow, knee as you have to engage and stress each of them in each shot. And of course you can roll your ankles and pull your hamstrings as well. :D Hopefully, he can rest and rehab this injury and get back to playing at his best as his ...

Re: $25K ITF Men and Women-Andijan/Namangan-Uzbekistan-22 Apr to 5th May 2019

It does appear that the IMPACT Academy (as the name suggests) focuses far too much on physical strengthening, and perhaps not enough on tenni s. Yuki currently is doing some amazing physical drills, but I don't see the point if he can't get back onto the tennis court in what should be his prime yea...

I think Arjun is saying that this "would be" a solid win. He hasn't played Korda yet. The match is on Thursday after 5:30 pm.
Beating Korda would indeed be a good win. However, the "very solid win" referred to his win over #219 Moraing in the R-32.

Sebastian Korda is from a family that is extremely talented athletically. Not only was his dad a GS winner, his mother was a WTA player with a CR of 26. Both of his sisters are in the top-12 of the LPGA rankings and rising! This is a very solid win for Sumit. Let's hope that he can win at least anot...

To be fair to the academy, Yuki has had significant injuries before he went to the academy but it seems to have continued there. Another top academy attendee, Hyun Chung has also been injured for quite a while after having breakout performances in last years Australian Open and a few tournaments aft...
