Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

What pressure on other batsmen? At the time Dhoni got out, he had 51 of 95. and Rohit had 75 of 76, and still you blame Rohit. Ridiculous to say the least!!

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Kaul and Shankar are still one of the best T20 bowler and seaming all-rounder respectively in the country after the regulars. So they definitely need to be given chances. Lets not discard after only 1 or 2 chances.

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

IMO average does not really matter that much in a Test; what is more important is wickets/inning. Because at the end of the day you need to get the opposition out. If you were super expensive doing so, then the only reason your captain was still bowling you was that you were better than the other bo...

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

The pitch seems really easy to bat on. So unless it starts breaking very quickly, we might be looking at a long slog for the bowlers and a boring draw.

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Rohit actually played pretty well after the drop. It would be good to have him open in the 2nd innings. May be worth figuring out if he should open with Mayank in the next match. Vihari has been disappointing, I hope he figures out how to score some runs.

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

I think going in with 4 bowlers, each of our frontline bowler will have to bowl a minimum of 20 overs in a day. This may be a lot asking from Bhuvi, given that he has been prone to breakdowns. That must have factored into his non-selection as also I think the conditions are not expected to favor swi...

Re: Nov/Dec Women's $25K ITF tournaments - India

Also I recall some instances of bad line-calling to favor the local players. I think it's basically an Asian challenger level field without the corresponding ATP points or prize money on offer. Hence its a winner take-all, and if you don't think you can win, there's very little point travelling all ...

Re: India in Australia, 2018-2019

Krunal was thoroughly exposed yesterday. He seems to be only good for IPL (just like Dhoni), which is nowhere near international level. IMO he should be replaced by Chahal for the next match. Khaleel was also very disappointing in the absence of any help from conditions. He should also be replaced, ...

Re: West Indies in India, 2018

I think just the simple substitution of Dhoni by Jadhav for the next match will improve the lineup quite a bit. We get someone who not only can bowl a few overs, but also who can hit some. Also I had been speaking against Rayudu for quite a while, for some reason, quite a few people were in love wit...

If Dhoni cannot score runs against Hong Kong and Afghanistan, how low can he go? C'mon, he is not Sachin or even Ganguly, you can drop him!!

Re: Asia Cup, 2018

The batting lineup is weak precisely because we don't have a good allrounder. Batting stops at #6 (and that includes Dhoni). It looks much better with Pandya at 7 and Bhuvi at 8.

Re: Japan/China/Korea Open September 2018

While Manu and Sumeeth have been quite good recently, Chirag and Satwik have been generally disappointing. Ashwini and Sikki too have been on a downhill. Overall our doubles is not showing as much improvement as one would have liked to see, more so from the newer crop of players. Also 16 seeds in a ...

Re: Asia Cup, 2018

We also have to stop killing Pandya. He is our only genuine seaming allrounder in a really long time. He is arguably the most important member of the team across all formats, because he lends important balance to the side. We need to give him decent breaks in the calendar; specially from this meanin...

He is our most promising boxer; our best hope for an Olympic medal; it would be a huge boost for him to get this award now. I hope Sports Ministry uses some common sense.
