Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...

Hearing of the exploits of our new crop of junior tennis players, I was thinking about the previous one. Whatever happened to Navdeep Singh? Havent heard anything about him. Havent heard much about Somdev DV too lately. Rupesh should be off to Bosse Foundation. Hoping that we hear a lot of news from...

Vijay Kannan thread .. (In QF at Kuwait!)

This guy has performed consistently well the last couple of years. We gotta give him credit for doing his bit despite the absence of any support or media attention some others have been getting. I think he could still break into the top 300, if he continues to fight.

Harsh Mankad thread -upto July 2005

I am very glad to know that the 2 have patched up their differences - probably it was the Davis Cup that did it.

Sania Mirza - General Discussion of tennis matters

Man, when i remember the Coca Cola Cup in Sharjah, it still brings tears to my eyes. Those 2 knocks were totally heroic.

$15K ITF futures, Mumbai (Jan 10)

Yes, the performance by our countrymen has been really heartening in round 1. And except for Vijay Kannan, every one who has been playing well did go through. Hope that Kannan is luckier in the next tournament though. Btw, I was very surprised to read of Stoliarov's loss to an unknown Iranian - anyo...

Chennai Open 2005 - Pre-tournament Discussion

Thats a great attitude from Harsh, especially after all these hardships. Really respect him for that. You cant keep on taking shortcuts, aka PA, and expect to become a great tennis player. Dont know if this "non-clamoring" for the wildcard by Harsh was somehow influential in his not getting one. Als...

Chennai Open 2005 - Pre-tournament Discussion

I agree with pm that one tournament should not be the basis for giving wildcards for all future events. Maybe there should be an "Indian qualifying event" with only Kannan, Sridhar, Karan and SKS participating. (I am assuming the 2nd wildcard is already reserved for HM)

Bangkok ATP 2004.

There is the match between lopez and johansson too in the evening session. I dont know why you are so down on Prakash. Why do you always feel that he is getting points unfairly, etc? I dont understand this. He certainly deserves as much respect as Harsh.

Can Asian Games success be translated into Olympic medals?

Very well written by mugu. I agree that we wouldnt have win any more medals in Athens even with doping.

Athletics

I think Hindu deserves appreciation for giving us all the news about Olympics qualification. Sadly the other newspapers have failed to pick these stories, focussing instead on some stupid cricket gossip or somehing of that like.
