Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Man, that was the toss we needed to win!

I am not sure sundar was the right choice! Would have preferred kuldeep and Saha! Anyway, Congratulations to both Natu and Sundar!

https://indianexpress.com/article/sports/cricket/ravichandran-aswhin-prithi-narayanan-daughter-australia-test-draw-injury-7145229/lite/?__twitter_impression=true Article from Ashwin’s wife! Very interesting read from a family member And they have the same team in this article (with Saha for Vihari) ...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Yes, Rahane leaned too much on Bumrah / Ashwin! Ashwin’s efficiency started going down from 2nd innings of the second test onward! I think Ashwin needs to work on building his overall core strength to handle the vigor of bowling this many overs If he is reasonably fit, would u mind selecting Ashwin ...

Sorry meant to say unfit

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

I am unfortunate that I was not there. :-) Ashwin seems like a no-go It seems like: Gill, Rohit, Pujara, Rahane, Pant, Mayank, Sundar, Thakur, Saini, Siraj, Natarajan. A bit of a long tail but with reasonable number of bowlers. Given the weak tail, I could not make space for Saha. Anyway, with four...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Shardul’s fc average is lower than Washington, but his t20 and odi are better! But smaller sample size!
Considering this is Gabba and if bumrah is playing I would go with Shardul

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Very old article article about Punjabi trying his bowling sikills https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/cheteshwar-pujara-sharpening-bowling-skills-727139 So if Mayans is not fit, it is a easier choice Vihari - Shaw or Saha Jadeja - Shaw or Saha If Bumrah not fit, - Shardul or Nat Ashwin not fit - yada...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

I think at this time, Pant walks in as specialist bat! https://wisden.com/series-stories/india-v-bangladesh/wriddhiman-saha-india-no-1-wicketkeeper-room-argument With Saha out, Rishabh Pant was thrown into the deep end, with three away tours in 12 months. The 22-year-old gave teasers of his batting ...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Yes,I was primarily looking for memorable test matches that stays in your mind very fresh! Tied test and Kolkata test really came to mind very easily for me! Tied test, which was meandering towards a boring draw suddenly made exciting by a sporting declaration and India going for it, still can’t bel...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

This has been one of the very ordinary Aussie attack! The way starc laughs after bowling a bouncer to tail ender is just pathetic! I think the biggest mistake was sending in Vihari after Rahane’s dismissal! Are you saying it due to the their attitude as you said about Starc. Otherwise, this Aussie ...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Which article was that. There are some shoddy articles where people are writing whatever. It seems all copied from one article. Vihari's results are not yet out. It is 4am in Sydney. I suppose in 4-5 hours things will come out if it is released. Says reported! Sorry to jump the gun https://www.time...

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Looks like Vihari has hamstring tear! ruled out for Gana! It is indictated that Shardul will play for Jadeja!

Need to see who comes in for Vihari! Mayank, Shaw or Saha! It will be very tall order for India to retain the trophy

Re: India in Australia, 2020-21

Actually, for the draw the contribution of Vihari was greater than Pant's. Pujara 205 balls, Vihari 161* balls, Ashwin 128* balls, Pant 118 balls. That Pujara could eat up balls was given. Kudos to Pant for making us believe and for taking the battle to the opposition. But, the true heroes were als...
