Re: Rutuja Bhosale thread

At $25,000 Toowoomba, AUS 08 October - 14 October 2018

[R1] Bhosale, Rutuja (IND, 382) vs Bains, Naiktha (AUS, 318)

Tough R1 match for Rutuja as she remains in Australia for another week. Looks like she is not playing doubles this week.

Good to see Viraj Madappa do well after a string of not making the cuts. Hope he adds consistency to his golf game.

Re: Rutuja Bhosale thread

Rutuja has been playing close to four hours every day thanks to doing well in the singles as well as doubles. I guess it is a testament to her fitness that she's been fighting even in the third set. I feel that playing college tennis teaches our players to pay attention to fitness.

Great win. Hope she goes further as the points build up only from the SF onwards.

Re: Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan thread

An interview with Jeevan from the website "The Bridge" A couple of quotes about his non-selection for the Davis Cup tie and how talking to Mahesh helped him: But then it was good when I was able to have a conversation with Mahesh. We spoke player to coach and we had a discussion about what he had o...

Re: Rutuja Bhosale thread

I've been reading up on Ellen Perez, Rutuja opponent in the QF. Like Rutuja, Ellen Perez played NCAA tennis representing the U. of Georgia and rose to No. 3 in the rankings in her sophomore year. She is currently at her highest WTA ranking after reaching the final of the $60K ITF event in Darwin las...

Re: Rutuja Bhosale thread

At $25K Brisbane ITF Women, Australia

[R1] (Q) Rutuja BHOSALE (IND,382) vs. (4) Su Jeong JANG (KOR,209) 2-6 6-1 7-5

A great win for Rutuja. She was down 3-5 in the decider and won 4 games in a row to upset the 4th seed. Now she has to be consistent and win a few more rounds.

Re: AITA Fenesta Nationals

In Singles, the winner gets 3 lakhs and the runner-up gets 2 lakhs. So this gives our second rung players a good chance to earn some money that might let them play a couple of ITF tournaments. The eight seeds don't look shabby to me. The doubles prize money is ten times less and not worth a trip.

Dodig-Pavic are too good. Jeevan must have learnt a thing or two playing such a good team. This was indeed a good week for him and his partner.

KU lost in straight sets. 6-7(?), 6-0. What a lost opportunity.

Re: US$15K Thailand F4 Futures

KU has strung together 3 good wins beating two seeds along the way. Given that so few points are on offer in a 15K Futures tournament, he needs to win the tournament to get a decent chunk (18) of ranking points.

I disagree! At a minimum, in this forum, both Hombre and Ankit knew that Barman will win Gold in heptathlon... See the post below!
True!
