Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020

Agree with mugu and prasen.

Indian sports journalism needs to get its head out of the gutter and understand you can't compare local PBs for Indian athletes but use Olympic numbers for everyone else.

Re: ATP Tennis/Non-India Davis Cup

So, channeling PKB here, the women's final is between 19-year old Canadian Leylah Fernandez who is half-Ecuadorean, half-Filipino and 18-year old British qualifier Emma Raducanu who is playing her 4th tour event and is also Canadian-born and is half-Romanian, half-Chinese. We are now seeing an explo...

Re: India in England, summer of 2021

We will likely lose 10 overs due to bad light tonight and again tomorrow so number of overs left are less than the budgeted 131 at tea.

Re: India in England, summer of 2021

And Kohli gone.

Looked tentative all morning and edged 3 times with the ball falling just before the slip fielder.

This middle order is so bad. England favourites to win now.

Re: India in England, summer of 2021

So either we should make him a captain or drop him!!! I would rather make Rohit the captain and drop Rahane. With this duck, he is now behind Ganguly as the worst middle order batsman in Indian test history to have played so much. Based on what we have seen, in terms of captaincy, Rohit >>> Rahane ...

Re: India in England, summer of 2021

That list is for positions 3-6 and excludes openers.

Filtering for 5-6 is a much smaller list. Rahane is the same as Ganguly, who was in the team as the captain, and 7-10 runs lesser than VVS and Azhar.

Agree with this.

Why should we continue in this colonial farce, where they continue with anti-India policies.

Re: India in England, summer of 2021

Not going through the last many pages here but this has been a terrible series for us bar the openers. If Rahane can't score 40+ on this pitch in the second innings, this should be his last test. He is by some distance the worst non-wicketkeeper Indian batsman to play 75+ tests. https://i.postimg.cc...

Yeah those improvements are nonsensical and likely most of the Italians are on spinach and won't be able to replicate these performances post-Covid.

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020

If we are doing better in the paralympics, that is a good sign. That means we are at least at the highest level giving more support to the differently abled than some of our peers who are doing better at the main Olympics. But, are we doing better? Or are we just getting more medals because there a...

I know this forum was tennis-india before but I find it hard to get excited about any of our tennis players, bar Ankita who is a honest trier who fights to the best of her abilities.

None of the rest are really likable or good.

Re: Indian Athletics Thread ...

If she is indeed only 17 years old , Shaili Singh is definitely a future Olympic medal prospect, if not in 2024, then certainly in 2028 -- although I'll be greedy and want medals at both. We need to nurture her the way Neeraj Chopra was nurtured after winning gold at the U-20 world championship fiv...

Re: Indian Athletics Thread ...

Those are old updates prasen. I would agree with mugu that something is suspicious. She was 23rd best in the world at age 18 and has regressed badly since. I have a couple of questions for mugu. a. opinions on a white Italian winning the 100m and 4x100m; and the sudden influx of very good white spri...
