Re: ITF Junior circuit 2023 India

^^ Why do you think that? If he goes to the top like Nishesh Basavareddy, would he play for India? If you know more, that is good news though... You are way better off being a middling tour regular as an Indian in terms of sponsorships and media attention (see Sania Mirza with one tour title in sin...

Re: Asian Tennis players' thread ...

I know this forum's origins but I don't really care about our rankings amongst Asian tennis.

It is all different degrees of sucking at the global level in the men.

Always == Kohli era.

We did win 3 ICC tournaments under Dhoni in 6 years.

The Kohli era has been a disaster-class in team building in LOI cricket.

Re: Mens hockey world cup 2023

Beating Spain 2-0 is an expected result, not a surprising one. As I have said many times here, this is not 2008-12. We have finished in the top 4 in every CT or Hockey League since 2016 (including the finals loss in the shootout against Australia in Breda that I watched in person) and also finally w...

Re: 2023 Malaysia Open

Maybe Sindhu sleeps a bit in the regular tournaments and wakes up for the WCs and Olympics, etc. The reverse-choke artist. This is not a maybe. She has never been world #1 which 3 other of our shuttlers have been (Padukone, Saina, Srikanth) but has been by our most successful athlete at the biggest...

This reads worse than it actually is.

We won the one match that we should have won. Srikanth-Nishimoto was a tossup and we lost the other 3 as expected.

Agree about Chahal - he also has no confidence as a bowler when he is taken on.

20 tests and almost 3 years at an average of 26 is not form - it is more than most people's test careers. Otherwise agree with you.

Yes, that won't happen. This is not 2008-12.

Re: World Rapid/Blitz championship

Unfortunately, not a great run in the open section with Hari finishing 17th and Nihal 18th as the only top-20 finishers.

Still, the bronze for Savitha in rapid and silver for Koneru meant it was a reasonable outing for the Indian contingent.

Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup - Qatar

While I agree that Mbappé has more to prove in club soccer, he also has the largest contract among Champions league players and it was agreed to before the WC. So clearly he’s seen as elite by those that actually run the teams and put their money behind their assessments…. He has definitely been co...
