Re: India in England, 2018

England got thrashed by test minnows Pakistan; I think we will see wholesale changes before the India series.

Re: French Open 2018

If the above tweet is factual, I don't think Prajnesh has given up (based on the communications via Harsh). If all he needs is to be "released" from Vicenza, he will obtain that release and go to Paris. Can you confirm that the above is true, Sin Hombre? This is the source https://twitter.com/BenRo...

Re: French Open 2018

Harsh says Prajnesh is aware of the situation (as I explained it: that he is ahead of Trungelliti if he signs up for the LL slot). I just don't know if Prajnesh formally took himself out of consideration for a Lucky Loser slot before leaving Paris. That would have been mighty stupid. My understandi...

Re: French Open 2018

Sounds like it's over as Prajnesh has given up

I hope this is not a negative turning point in his career weeks after the DC win changed it for the better.

Prajnesh has confirmed with Sportster he won't be playing French Open. This is ridiculous. Has he given up too soon?
Almost certainly.

I concur with athithee ; he needs AITA to get the Italian tennis federation to get him an exemption and get to Paris pronto.

Re: French Open 2018

I think the organizers may have already offered the Lucky Loser slot to Marco Trungelliti, who was the highest-ranked player onsite. Please ask Prajnesh to act immediately to reverse this situation. They can't offer it to anyone since nobody signed up. Whoever signs up before play tomorrow and is e...

Re: French Open 2018

Latest updates from twitter Marco Trungelliti is driving from Barcelona so he will sign tomorrow early in the morning. He play against Tomic 11AM But wait! A loophole *could* give Gunneswaran a lifeline back into #RG18, if he can get "released" from the supervisor of his challenger tournament in Ita...

Re: French Open 2018

As fat as I know, a player can withdraw for 3 or 4 tournaments in a year without incurring a fine. Paying the fine is not the issue. @Vishnu, who is Prajwal? Also maybe an idea to check with Wimbledon instead of RG given how terrible the latter's management is; and all GS' follow the same rulebook.

Re: French Open 2018

Kyrgios has withdrawn!

What a missed opportunity for Prajnesh to play in a GS MD :damn:

Can someone contact Prajnesh and tell him to rush back to Paris to sign up asap

Re: French Open 2018

Troicki withdrew and Safwat is in so Prajnesh is only one out unless being in MD of Vicenza CH next week leads to an automatic withdrawal

edit: 3 posts on this at the same time. @Ravi, my understanding is that he is out of contention but I haven't seen a clear rule about this yet.

Re: French Open 2018

I meant "Lu is 34"in the above post :p Six Lucky Losers so far -- Stakhovskiy, Polansky, Zopp, Otte (#157), Bolleli (#130 who plays Nadal) and Bemelmans. If another slot opens up, the choice will be among Londero (ARG, 172), Safwat (EGY, 182) and Prajnesh (IND, 183). I don't think that's how it wor...

Yes, so a bit tougher match for Yuki as Ruben Bemelmans played few tournaments on clay ... But clay is not Bemelmans's favorite court.

[R1] Yuki Bhambri (IND,94) vs (LL) Ruben Bemelmans (BEL,111)
This is significantly harder for Yuki now

Re: French Open 2018

No chance of a LL spot since those go to the 4 best ranked losers.

The older Ymer is a solid grinder and Prajnesh probably hasn't played many of those. Still, kudos to him for rescuing an otherwise dismal FO qualifying campaign.

Re: French Open 2018

One match at a time for Yuki. I'll take a first GS MD win with no clay tournaments as a stupendous achievement.

Elias Ymer can't be considered as a top European talent anymore. He has stagnated at this level for a few years now and is a generally solid player with no clear spikes in his game.

Re: French Open 2018

This is one case where I am ok with the technical misrepresentation. Ankita deserves all the attention and hopefully additional sponsorships that come her way. Amongst girls who were born and were always "Indian", she is in a very small group. Unfortunately, it appears that the rain interrupted her ...
