Re: October 2018 Challengers

Feels like the end of Yuki's singles career. He'll fall below the top 200 again with no PR and not sure if he has the will to grind back up again.

Re: West Indies in India, 2018

Pant's wicketkeeping is only really an issue when keeping to the spinners.

And this is not a terrible WI attack (the one playing in this test). Holder with 2 quick wickets (including a second ball Jadeja duck) and Windies are right back in it. Ashwin escapes with a umpire's call first ball.

Re: Pranjala Yadlapalli thread

Excellent from Pranjala.

This will move her to #28 amongst teenagers and 3rd amongst Asians. Much like Kamran, that's top 150 potential.

Solid, patient innings from Pant, apart from a caught behind chance off Gabriel (when he was in his 20s) off Gabriel.
Bit chancy until 40 or so; with couple more catches just falling short of the fielder.

Re: West Indies in India, 2018

Shaw got carried away a bit and gets dismissed with a loose shot, and Pujara soon follows.

India in trouble here and need Rahane to stand up for once.

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020 projections

He has said he will go up a weight class as he continues to grow in height.

That said, for comparison to the current elite, if we are using his YOG performances, we should look at the medalists in Rio at 62kg.

Re: Tokyo Olympics 2020 projections

Some random thoughts while compiling this Saurabh/Manu mixed pair should be a strong medal contender if the Olympics were to happen tomorrow. Given how young they are, I would be disappointed if they don't medal (though given our usual shenanigans, we might not even see them as a pairing). Reiterati...

Shardul gets a cap :puke:

And Holder wins the toss so fully expect them to feast on the trundling Thakur.

Looks like we might see a repeat of Pranjala vs Conny in the finals.

Re: US$15K Thailand F4,F6 Futures

Manish should win the finals if he can get past the Russian.

The aim should be get to top 300 by his 20th birthday so he needs to start winning this level of tournaments.

I think it is time to upgrade Saurabh to likely medal contender for 2020.

Re: West Indies in India, 2018

Rahul is our #1 test opener at this point and needs all the experience he can get.

Very decent team selection for a change.

I hope to see Siraj get a chance in red ball cricket.

Re: World Chess Olympiad/ World Team Chess

And the men now get #2 seeds Russia. As far as pairings go, it is obviously not the best system for a team event. An average rating difference of 100 elo points is much harder to turn around than for an individual pair. http://chess-results.com/tnr368908.aspx?lan=1&zeilen=99999 Olympiad-Sonneborn-Be...
