Junior Circuits Abroad for Indian Kids...
I find some of the anonymous comments against the Indian players objectionable - mainly because whoever is writing does not even have the guts to post his or her name under his views while criticising others! :frown: Obviously, he or she has a grouse against some of the more successful Indian player...

Sania Mirza - General Discussion of tennis matters
Can you tell me who has coached Sania Mirza? I know that CGK Bhupathi worked with her for a few months but I'm sure she had the benefit of some foreign coaching early on as it would be impossible to be a top 10 junior player of the world (which I think she is now) without the guidance of some of the...

Re: Misc. Results for Indians abroad...
I think we will just have to accept that we have a much better future in the Women's category than in the Men's!

Champion stuff!
Another fine showing from one of the brightest emerging stars in Indian tennis! :notworthy: :notworthy: Sania bags her fourth professional title and with the ease of a proven master! The kid is sensational and is definitely the greatest thing to have happened to Indian tennis. Keep going, girl - the...

Sania Mirza - General Discussion of tennis matters
6-0, 6-3 against Magy Aziz, 6-1, 6-1 against Michelle Snyman in the quarters and now 6-1, 6-0 against Aigner in the semis!! Sania sure means business! :bounce: 'When this girl is on song, The opponents better just run along!' Honestly, when SM hits the ball it does really stay hit! Hope she can keep...

ITF $10K Women Bangalore (Feb 17) - All done!
Megha Vakharia went down 4-6, 4-6 against Hong Da-Jung of Korea in the final. However, there was some consolation for the Indians as the seasoned pair of Rushmi Chakravarti and Sai Jayalakshmy beat Maki Arai and Natalia Dziamidzenka in straight sets in the final to come up with the doubles cr...

Great to see another great young talent emerging out of the woods! Megha Vakharia has always been around, known for her great strokes but never really justifying her tremendous potential. Maybe, this tournament will mark the turnaround in her career that we have all hoped for. Keep blazing, Megs and...

Sania Mirza - General Discussion of tennis matters
The scoreline given by the Indian newspapers is 7-5, 7-6 for Sania against Marielle Weihs, which means it was a straight set victory . However, one of the papers said that Sania and Babos of Hungary won their doubles 1st round match at 7-6 in the third set.

Big win for Megha Vakharia! Hope she can continue with her good form to win the title. Old warhorse, Rushmi can find some consolation if she and Sai can win the doubles crown.

Sania Mirza - General Discussion of tennis matters
I happened to watch Sania Mirza on TV during the Hyderabad WTA and I think that her strokeplay is quite extraordinary! She actually outplayed her Australian opponent ranked no. 94 in the world in the 1st set and I don't think I've ever seen an Indian woman play as aggressively as she did! Yes, she n...
